the mountains help a lot ... but these things are unpredictable .. remember jeanne .. or whatever her name was last year ... whe fols think she gone she turn round and comb back bout 3 times ... poor Hispaniola people don't know if dem coming or going ..
so Mr Dennis could sit right there in the channell a couple of days and just stretch and flex his muscles, before heading out into the gulf to build up strength ...

I just spoke with my friends Lydie and Paula in Sheffield, Westmoreland. Nothing going on there yet, it's still sunny, but they are ready with water and boards and all that just in case.

They have Digicel and I got right though.

I can't blame Dennis for being afraid of the Blue Mountains! You don't realize their size until you look down on the hills that surround Town, and they are way below and look small and maaga. And you still have 2 hours of pure 'UP'!

Lots of rain in Portland now and flooding.

The winds are at 105. When they reach 111 it will be a category 3. They have told people to evacuate the coast. It is now turning and it will now hit the north coast. Even with the eye out to sea, they say we will have hurricane force winds on the north coast. The TV stations cut out at times. They say Portland will be hit hard.
