Saw the movie last night...I can't find the words to describe my appreciation for it; The entire theater was so sober; it was an excellent production.

Re: The Passion
I can't wait to see it. Apparently, this movie has had a personal, individual effect on those who have seen it. I heard on the radio this morning a woman had a heart attack while watching this movie and unfortunately, didn't recover and passed away. I'm not sure of the validity of this.

Re: The Passion
Go ahead and see it if you can; you'll probably want to see it again by then anyways. My church booked it for this coming Saturday, I couldn't wait; just had to see it on opening night....the theater was full to capacity. A few show times are sold out for saturday already; I won't spoil it for you guys, but you won't take things for granted again, and the crucifixion will mean sooooo much more. I prayed for Mel Gibson and his family at the end of the night.Originally posted by Compry:

Re: The Passion
I saw the movie yesterday and am still in a reflective mood...I went with a woman I work with who is a nonbeliever and the way we went to the movie and came from the movie was and is so verrry different. Totally different perspectives.
The theatre was quiet other than the sobbing that went on throughout the movie...other than the weeping you could hear a pin drop.
My church will be taking about 20 youth this Sunday to see it following a bible study..Where at first I thought my 8 year old would see it.. he will not.
After seeing the movie..if a child isn't old enough to view this movie as personal...something that has to do with them and their personal walk as a christian..they shouldn't see it.
Very powerful...beyond words to describe what it does to you.

Re: The Passion
I've invited a few of my friends that aren't Christians to the movies on Saturday. They all said yes they will go. One has asked are we going to see this particular film but the others haven't asked anything. I can't wait to see it and I'm eager to see their reactions as well. I do hope and pray that they will have many questions after. I'm sure I will.

I agree, I saw a mother with her young child about 7 yrs old or so and took him out once the beating scene took place; I think parents with young chidren should view it first then decide if their child is mature enough or understand enough and can personally embrace the experience before viewing. I'm taking a couple of teenage girls with me on Saturday to see it.

Indeed.

Re: The Passion
DB, you really have an awesome opportunity as I did going to see the movie with someone who is not a christian. We spent about 30 minutes in the parking lot after the movie and although she had many questions and felt totally different than I did (and we saw the exact same thing) she was thinking ALOT.
I then spent about 2 hours reading Matthew (as if I was going to see something different..) again once I got home... I FELT something different when I read of Jesus dying on the cross..for me.

It was mentioned several times in the movie yes...by Jesus.Originally posted by mountaingal:

Heard the same thing on a local station during the drive in to work. I will be seeing the movie, but am in no rush to do so.Originally posted by JamBrit: I heard on the radio this morning a woman had a heart attack while watching this movie and unfortunately, didn't recover and passed away. Edited to add:
For those who have seen the movie, beside going through the 'reflective' phase, which is understandable when one watches something they find rather moving, do you think seeing the movie is going to have any impact on the way you live your life, i.e. conduct yourself as a Christian?
aka ChurchDude. I want that moniker back! Until then....

Re: The Passion
The movie makes me appreciate Jesus love for me even more and I didn't think that was possible.... I knew I wasn't worthy before the movie but left feeling so much more loved than I did prior to seeing the suffering that Christ Jesus endured.Originally posted by CEW:

The movie makes me want to evaluate how I interact with non believers though..I still don't know how...the guy that sits behind me is an athiest and he was saying how he likes how I am..he knows I'm "religous" but don't force it down his throat..then he says "you really wouldn't know that you are..." I'm not sure if thats good or not..
In my daily life I have to always strive to go higher in the Lord and dig deeper.. in my relationship with God. The movie reinforces what I strive for but didn't change it.
