In Europe, Americans are considered "typical".

When you visit another country it doesn't take long to discover the things you take for granted. I am spoiled and so grateful for it.

One time I stayed with a lady in Jamaica who didn't have a water heater. Each morning it took me at least 2 hours to get my attitude together after an ice cold shower. Ever rent a car in Jamaica? Woo haaa. I paid twice as much for a tiny beat up hooptie with a battery that died the next day and a tire that kept going flat. In the US, I would not have driven off the lot with that car.

Maybe it sounds better to say we are naive about our priveledges and mistake priveledges for human rights.
