I never said that I hadn't dated in years. Where did you ever get that idea? I said if I were to stick to Christians only I would just have a couple of dates a year. I am not looking for just dates. I want to get married again and I am looking for someone I find exciting and who finds me exciting and is of like mind and spirit. Nothing wrong with that. The ones who I find meet my criteria won't give me the time of day. They want young blondes who dress like sluts. Guess I'd better get out a wig and rent a belly dancing costume. It worked for the bleached blonde in my Bible study and yes I'm ticked about it.

Beloved, I assure you that this question shouldn't just be for Christian women but women in general because it is about values of women.

Women to be attractive don't have to present theselves as hoes. You know what is very sad now it is Holywood that set the trend and that is very dangerous. These actors have no code of behaviours nor ethics, they have sold their soul to the devil and that can't be the model for all the women in general. And when I see the lady in your post is definitively out of boarder.

This is beyond the pale. Do you realise how bigoted and narrowminded you come across. You are basically saying that christian blonde white women are sluts and whores, and it is their slutty behaviour that gets them a man rather than their christian values and god given appearances. This is sick. You are also saying that christian men are attracted to only these slutty women for the reasons of them being slutty. If that is the case then why would you or any christian woman want a christian man since they want only slutty women? Doubting Thomas, to tell you the truth, I was starting to feel a little beaten down (in terms of self-image). You know what, Tropi? I'm white and blonde and somehow have managed to avoid being a slut. Imagine! I really do feel like you're exhibiting some serious prejudice. Maybe I'm just extra-sensitive about it lately (Saturday night, a drunk woman approached me at a local event. She grabbed my hair and starting saying, "look at all that blonde hair." I tried to brush her off and say, "oh, it's mostly fake." Then she tried to drag me to the bathroom, saying, "let's wash it out." Yeah, blondes have all the fun. )

Sorry to "mash up" your thread, but the prejudices do begin to wear on one...

I feel you Coffegal. I simply just cannot understand how Tropicana can post what she post without seeing that it is demeaning other people. I also cannot see how the so called christians do not reprimand her for this. This is why I say that she cannot be a christian for it is unchristianlike to even use those words much less to direct them at others because of their race. I don't have time for hypocrisy. Chrustians must reprimand each when they are wrong or is the christian clique pledge of allegiance. The quicker we see in this world that the end to bigotry starts with us, by us looking at ourselves in the mirror the mirror of our souls the world will be a better place. It is as if she is saying that white women shouldn't have a man and if they do it is because they are whores and sluts or the reason that black women do not have a man is because of white women. This is the most absurd ridiculous reasoning I've ever seen. I am not even going to focus on the unchristian feel to it.

I do not know who the "so called christians" are, but Galatians 6:1 serves as a reminder of how things ought to be done: "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted." Meekness implies strength under control, and sometimes the "medicine" administered with honey - in love - is far more effective than that administered with vinegar - condemnation.

As a committed Christian black male, and like coffeegyal alluded to, I feel beaten down by some of the views too, but I refuse to take them personally as they define nothing about me. Obviously, I do not share Tropicana's views, but she is entitled to them. Where appropriate, I have challenged and will continue to challenge her on those views without feeling a need to condemn.

I'm with you, CEW. I'm not about condemning anyone. Tropi is obviously really struggling with these issues, and they are important to address. I don't doubt that there are plenty of others who feel the same way but are more hesitant to speak up.

However, I would prefer exploring these issues without consigning all people of the same skin tone and hair color to the same junk pile. Women are already (often) so bad to each other that it doesn't make sense to perpetuate the stereotypes.

I hadn't even thought about it from your (Christian male) perspective. Yikes!

The example I gave of the bleached blonde Christian woman who dressed in a belly dancing costumer showing 3/4 of her breasts and the whole of her miggle is a fact. I did not make it up. Baby, if that ain't dressing like a slut I don't know what it is. She sure ain't wearing a nun's habit and that manner of dressing sure ain't appropriate for a Christian. I said that most of the Christian men I know are attracted to women like that....young curvy blonde women who dress like sluts. This is what THEY (the men) have told me and this is who I see them dating. If you ask the men, they will tell you the same thing. They weren't ashamed to say it. They aren't ashamed to show up with women like that on their arms. Why should I be ashamed to speak about it? How is speaking about what they do unChristian?

I have no idea of how these women behave behind closed doors. I am not a man and would not have any opportunity to check it out. Some men kiss and tell and I have heard an earful even from Christian men but when they start I tell them it isn't my business and shut them up real fast. I am only able to comment on what I see in public, slutty clothes and a lot of grabbing and pawing men up in church. If they aren't ashamed to dress like that and behave like that in public, why should I be ashamed to talk about it? And yes I will go on record as saying that a woman who dresses and behaves like that does not deserve to have a Christian boyfriend or husband, especially since she claims to be a Christian. She is being rewarded for completely inappropriate behaviour and yes I resent it and I am not afraid to say it. What really ticks me off is that the ministers say nothing about it either to the men or the women.

I never said ALL White women or ALL blonde women act like that. When did I say that they were sluts or that ALL blonde white women are sluts and whores? Please cut and paste the exact quote into this thread and show me where I have said that.

And one more thing Doubting Thomas, you can rest assured that a NUMBER of the Christians on this site have PMd me and suggested that I cool it because of the reaction of people like you. So, get off their case. They have done their due diligence. However, just because someone is upset by something I have said does not mean I was wrong in saying it. I need say no more on the subject. I have said what I have to say.

Now on to more pleasant matters.

I had a thought here about this. If you are interested in marrying a man who presents himself stylishly and is regarded as being quite good looking you may be looking for something you don't really want.

I really think it is very wise to look at the man who is a little shy, a little socially inept, maybe his skin suffered some during the teen years and has some scaring to show for it. Maybe he is a bit thick around the middle. If you are not including these men in your selection pool you may be opting out of relationship by default. Please understand I am not for a moment suggesting you look to men who do not have character. I would place character at the very top of my selection list.

You may find as I have that once I know someone their appearance in my minds eye changes according to their character and behavior. Some people just keep getting better and better looking.

Just some of my thoughts.

Exactly. Our friend may still be hard to please, and wants what she can't have... the younger guys, who are after those gals who where the short tee shirts. This could be a scenario that has played itself often, over and over...
