danielle! I am really enjoying your report. WOW is right! I so regret not going to the falls when I was there. I know it must have been an awesome experience...especially with the private tour guides [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] . The falls is first on my agenda when I return to Jamaica.

Now you said "he did the hand thing again (where he rubs his finger on my palm)" I would like to know how do you tell them that you are not interested???? I mean this is a hand gesture..how would you respond if you are not "feeling" their vibe??? As you I would smile and be naive, but I would think that would only encourage them.

Well anyway...hurry back.

Hey there everyone,
Sophie & Mika I am glad you are enjoying my report, I am trying my hardest to get to finishing it, I am going to do Saturday night now and then work on Sunday too...it's a lot of work, and I am trying to remember everything that happened there was sooo much!!!
Vi, I'm still not sure what to suggest about the hand thing, I guess if you pulled your hand away quickly and said "I don't think so!!"...that would be a good indication that you were not interested!! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]
As far as the falls, definitely go there next time, bring some good watersock shoes and be careful where you step, if you have the opportunity to get a "private" and handsome tour guide, do so!!! It will make the climb so much more enjoyable!!

Oh sorry Pattim, I wanted to tell you too, thanks for the reply.
I find it hard to get back here to post and get back to everyone, there never seems to be enough time in the day!!
I have to admit the combination of everything down there (the heat, beauty, beautiful men, the ocean, and the non-stop all-inclusive wonderful beverages they all can make any sane woman crazy!! (I was a perfectly well-mannered shy woman before I went to Jamaica - believe it or not!!) I still can't fully explain what happened to me!! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

We walk down to the restaurant, which happens to be right on the beach. It is absolutely amazing. The sun has set and you can see the glow of the moon reflecting on the ocean. The waves are rolling onto the sand and it is just a perfect moment. We all comment on how beautiful it is to sit right on the shore, our feet in the sand and have a nice dinner. The waiters are smiling and offer to take our pictures (of course they have to be in the picture with us) We have some drinks and start posing. We talk to some of the men that are serving us and discuss our plans for the evening. We tell them we plan to check out Jamaican me crazy tonight, and they all agree it will be pretty busy tonight. A lot of new guests have checked into the hotel today, before today, it had been pretty quiet, but we liked it. Our food arrives and we eat, I can tell Dolly is anxious to meet up with Paul, she keeps checking her watch. She told us she had plans to meet him at the entrance of the hotel at 10, it was getting closer to that time. Olivia and I looked at eachother and started talking about going to the club tonight.
I wondered if Pete would show up or not, or "find" me like he said he would.
Olivia was still upset about her "man" situation. She kept seeing Raymond here and there and he would turn his face and ignore her. You could tell she was upset about that, she really had eyes for him, but now his attitude and actions were bothering her.
I told her there were so many more men, and not to worry about him...I reminded her of my Kevin #1, and how he had me freaked out, and if I dwelled on that, it would have ruined my whole vacation. She laughed and agreed.
It was almost 10, and Dolly was beginning to get anxious, she was fixing herself up and getting up. We walked with her, thanking our servers and "new friends". We said our good-byes in the lobby to her, gave her a lecture, told her to be careful and watched her walk away. I hoped she'd be OK. The guy (Paul) seemed to be OK, but you still always wonder if maybe something would go wrong. I hoped the best for her.
Olivia and I chit-chatted and walked back down to the courtyard, drinks in hand and guess who we saw...yes beautiful Mike with his friend Rasta Kevin. He gestured over for us to come over to him, so we walked up to him. He said something about wanting to enjoy our company, and asked if we still wanted to join him for a smoke on the beach. Olivia started smiling and began talking away, she looked pretty excited to join them. I, of course was game for spending some time with this beautiful man and was flattered that he actually wanted us to join him and his friend. Now I have to tell you, this guy was the bomb!! He was a perfect creation!! I mean, you couldn't help but stare at his perfect features, body...AHHH!
He asked me how dinner was, and I told him where we ate was beatutiful. He started talking to me and asking about how I liked Jamaica, etc. We were walking toward the water and got to a little veranda on the water. We stopped there and stood there for a while talking. Mike was telling us about his friend Rasta Kevin, who he knew all his life, and had been friends with. Rasta Kevin ad a very thick accent, and I found it hard to understand him. He started talking about his life and then he was pulling hot sauce or something out of his pocket telling me he knew the couple that made it. He was drinking it. I smelled it, it was pretty strong stuff, I'm not too sure what it was supposed to do for him, but he was smiling...
Mike lit one up and passed it around, talking the whole time. We sat down and he talked more. I was beginning to get sick of him, because all he did was talk about himself...he talked about how successful he was in the U.S. , about how much money he made, about the car he drove, where he lived, where he travelled, the women that wanted him...OK, I admit he was AMAZING looking, but when you combine his personality with that, it wasn't attractive anymore, I found myself totally getting turned off the more he talked about himself. I didn't want him anymore, I was almost hoping he would just SHUT up!!!
He started up again, now he was talking about how all the women back home in the US wanted him, and how he could get any girl he wanted...from then on all I heard was blah...blah...blah..
Man I was getting turned off...such a shame!!
Olivia was smoking away, and talking too, I just sat and watched them. The stuff we were smoking seemed to be really potent, either that, or maybe it was laced with something..I took it easy, and passed it by when it came to me, something didn't feel quite right.
Mike started talking again, this time he was looking at me and telling me that he was impressed with my body..OK, I think I had tuned him out, but that caught my ear. He went on to say he admired me for what I do...I spoke up and asked exactly what it was he thought I did. DO YOU KNOW what he said?? He said "Well your a dancer, OF course, an entertainer"
I said "What do you mean exactly?"
He said "Well, aren't you a stripper?"
Now I wasn't sure how to react to that...should I be flattered or offended??
I looked at him and shook my head no. He popped his eyes opened surprised and said "Yes you are, are you telling me with that body you are not a stripper, I know a lot of strippers and you definitely are one!"
OK, just because I am in good shape and take care of myself does not mean I am a stripper...does he think every blond girl with a body in good shape strips? Now I was getting defensive, I said "No I am not a stripper". I dance, but not in that way.
He was going on and on and asked me "So you are saying you are NOT a stripper, for real?"
"yes" I told him "for real"
He looked really surprised and started talking about how he had this talent about being able to know what type of careers, personalities and stuff people had, just by talking to them, he started blabbing about how good he was at this. I DON'T think so.....
How do you learn about a person, if you don't give thenm a chance to talk, because you won't stop talking about YOURSELF!!!
Man, was he turning me off SOOO FAST!!
Olivia was enjoying herself too much and thought it was pretty funny about how Mike thought I was a stripper. She defended me a bit by saying "You know Danielle Mike has a point, why don't you use that body to your advantage and make some money, you could do it" Thanks Olivia, I really needed that!
Rasta Kevin kept pretty quiet the whole time, he must be used to Mike constantly talking, didn't they say they grew up together?
I was getting restless now, and annoyed. Olivia wasn't looking too good either, I was hoping what they were smoking wouldn't affect her too much. She was looking kinda funny, so I said we better go. She was all sweaty, and I helped her get up. She just said she was hot..and needed a drink. We walked away from the beach, and Mike and Rasta Kevin walked with us. At this point I didn't really want to hang out with them anymore. They asked what plans we had for the evening, and Olivia said we were going to the Jamaican me crazy club. They said they might see us there, or they were going to Margaritaville, and we should come with them. I said "we'll see" and walked Olivia to get some water. Mike said he enjoyed hanging out with us and maybe we should do it again.. I nodded and walked away. It is so unfortunate that such an amazing man could have such a stuck up vain personality...oh well.
Right now I needed to get Olivia some water.
I was very dissappointed with Mike, but that's OK, I began to think of what our evening was going to be like, and I really hoped later I would see Pete.

You are so right about writting these stories!I thought I would never get through!You are quite wrong about things happening only in Jamaica! I have traveled to other islands as well and funny things have happened on all of my trips but some things are funnier than the others!I started traveling in 1987, so far I"ve been to Cancun Mexico 3 times!Las Vegas, Bahamas,Hawaii 2times, Barbados 2 times,Bermuda 2times and Jamaica 2 times the 3rd time happening in December!14 trips in all!So many fun experiences!Get to writting! Hi Danielle! girl...mi feel ya!!! I am definitely a different person since returning from my first trip.

ANYWAY!!! Your suggestion about "pulling away" sounds perfect. I will store that in mind. I will also visit the Falls.

I'm still here reading even though I haven't posted in awhile. That really stinks about Mike. The total package until he opened his mouth. Refresh my memory on who Raymond is. Is that the guy that Olivia fought w/ at Amnesia? And btw, if it's not too personal, did you continue your relationship w/ your man back home after all your exciting Ja experiences?

Let me know how the pulling away your hand works..and it's a good thing you know what the finger on the palm means now...I had to find out in person!!!

No problem replying to you, I think it's great that you all our enjoying Dolly's and my stories, so the least we can do is say "hi, and thanks"

Dr. Bones,
Raymond is the guy Olivia was fighting with at Amnesia, he got her pretty upset, she says "he marked her" She said he told all the guys to stay away from her, and she was getting down because it seemed no one else would approach her or dance with her after the blow up with Raymond. As for Mike, I was pretty dissappointed, but hey so many more fish..right??? Besides I wasn't looking to get with everyone in Jamaica, that's not me...but I will admit I did get a LITTLE crazy there!!!
As for the one I left at home, before I went things weren't very good...so I was game for finding someone new...who knew what would happen? When I returned he seemed very different, says he missed me soo much and stuff...so I'm not entirely sure what will happen in the future?? Who knows.
I'll continue my story and you be the judge!!

Olivia and I walked down the beach towards the little cafe on the resort to get a drink and cool off, I told her it would be good for her since it was air-conditioned. She wasn't looking very good, but she insisted she was OK, on our way there, we were stopped by 2 guys, one of them grabbed my arm and asked if I remembered him.
I looked at him and flashed through the inventory of men that I had met over the last few days. He looked familiar, but I couldn't remember why or from where.
He looked at me and smiled remember me Mr G? Oh GOD, him!!! The guy I thought was a gigalo who we met at Margairtaville a few days ago..the one who told me he was going to Columbia "on business" for a few days...the one who said he wanted me to work for him and I would make lots and lots of money...The one who said he would find me and wanted to see me again. It all came back to me!! I really didn't think I would see him ever again - actually I was hoping I wouldn't see him again..but of course, I seem to meet crazy people, so here he was, just my luck!!
I asked him how his "business trip" was, and he said it went well (yeah I bet!)
I was with Olivia who REALLY needed to cool off and get some water, so I used her as an excuse to leave. He held on to my arm and asked where my other "friend" was. I told him she was "out". He said "where, with who?" I told him she just wasn't here right now, I was beginning to get mad at him, it was none of his business where Dolly was, and I wasn't about to tell him anything, he had no right to know.
He said his friend (the guy standing beside him) wanted to meet her. He demanded that we get her and she meet him. OK NOW I WAS MAD!!! I pulled away from him, grabbed Olivia, and left saying we needed to leave. He stated mumbling something, then started to raise his voice saying something about disrespect and stuff..oh know not again!!! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]
We walked away quickly to get that water.
Once we got into the building where it was cool, Olivia looked a little better. She started saying that she thought the stuff she smoked was more than just ganja, I said I thought something was different, and told her to just take it easy.
We went back up to our room to freshen up a bit.
By this time I was beginning to wonder if Pete was going to come by the hotel or not. I was starting to think he wouldn't, or he wouldn't find me, so I suggested to Olivia we sit down and hang out in the lobby (so we wouldn't miss Pete if he did come there)
We went down and took a seat in one of the comfy couches. I got a drink, and told Olivia juts to drink water until she was a little better.
As we were sitting there, I was watching the entrance, hoping I would see Pete. After some time went by, I heard a voice beside me "There you are, how are you doing?" Guess who it was Mike the vain.

He sat down beside me. I noticed he had changed from his casual clothes into a nice outfit. He had on a dress shirt, some black pants, and MAN he looked good!! I thought to myself, such a waste!! Olivia looked him up and down and gave me the OK look. She thought he looked pretty good too. Too bad he had a mouth!! LOL
Olivia grabbed her camera and told me to stand by him for a picture. At least I will have a memory of how good he looked, and thenk god pictures can't talk like the real Mike!! LOL
e sat and chatted with us for a while, telling us he was going to Margaritaville or something, and He hoped to see us there. I didn't even notice rasta Kevin was there too, he changed and looked a bit different, and man was he quiet. He nodded to us and waved good-bye as they walked away.
I atched that lovely piece of man walk down the lobby and shook my head in disbelief that he was the way he was.
Olivia excused herself and said she needed to use the bathroom. She told me if she wasn't back in 10 minutes to come and get her. Oh great, I thought..that's all I need.
As I sat all by myself in the lobby waiting for Pete, I sipped on my drink and assumed I was being played, or stood up by him, and got a little down. I told myself not to get emotional attached to anyone, and not to let anything get me down, I really didn't need to feel like this. It was a vacation, and I was going to have fun.
I came to the conclusion that the guys out here just want to have some fun with the tourists, we leave, and then they goto the next one...so now I felt used...why do I get myself into these situations?? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]
As I was sitting there thinking, and drowning in my own self pitty, I saw Raymond walking up to me..oh no, now what??
He came right up to me and said "Hi". He sat down in the chair beside me and asked how I was enjoying my vacation. I told him I was having a great time. I was waiting for him to ask me something about Olivia. I didn't want to mention anything , so I just sat there silent. He asked when we were leaving and I told him on Monday. He asked me if I ad plans tonight, and what they were. I said I wasn't too sure, probably check out the clubs (I didn't want to give out too much info, we didn't need another repeat of the other night)
He said "oh well maybe I'll meet up with you tonight" I was confused, what the heck was he talking about? He said "It would be nice if we could get together and spend some time before you go"
What the heck was this?
I looked at him, and from the corner of my eye I could see Olivia coming back from the bathroom. He looked back and saw he and said "well I'll see you, I hope to see you later", I smiled and said goodbye. He took moff like lightnign before Olivia came. WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT???
Olivia looked at me with a "What was that all
about" face. I told her I wasn't too sure what he was trying to do, I explained what he said and told her I wasn't into playing games, especailly with Raymond. I laughed it off and told her he was just trying to get her jealous by pertending to pick up her friend (me) What a guy!!
I tried getting her into a better mood. She seemed to be feeling better, but I could tell she was mad with what Raymond did. I didn't blame her. I kept looking at the entrance, no Pete. I was sure I had been stood up now...I said "Forget this" to Olivia...She said "What, no Pete? He seemed like such a nice guy, I'm sure he'll show up"
"Yeah" I said "they all seem like nice guys"
I got up and said "Lets' go."
I put my drink down and we walked down the stairs to the club.

Isn"t it something how when they don"t get their way, they are soooooo obnoxious and loud! You sound like myself,a walking magnet to any and everything going wrong! I also wanted to know if you kept in touch with Pete? After traveling so much, you do get to see the games they play! They"ll be telling the next ship, or cruise ship the same lines they fed you! I hope Dollybaby doesn"t set herself up for a big dissapointment and heartbreak!
And if he wanted me to come back to Jamaica it would be on his dime not mine!Why can"t he come to visit her at her home?

Hey Boopie. I still keep up on your report, just haven't posted. The news of your best friends passing really got to me, and I didn't know what to say. A lot of your story reminds me of Stella - Winston, an ill best friend...but unlike in the movie, the Ja guy cannot just come here to visit. They cannot travel freely like us b/c they need a visa, and these can be nearly impossible to come by. That explains why Danielle will have to go back to Ja to see Pete if that's what she chooses, we'll just have to wait patiently and see how this story unfolds.
