Re: OchoRios - Danielle's trip report
We get to the club, and it is packed. There are people everywhere. I wonder how Dolly is doing, at least her man showed up and wants to see her..
OK, I will not let myself get down. Olivia is once again at the bar, ordering yet another paralyzer, I really don't think she needs anymore to drink, she is still not looking that great....I tell her this and she says "Don't worry, mon, it's all good" she has a big grin on her face and motions her eyes behind me. A couple of guys are trying to rub themselves against me...oh great...here we go....
I give them a look (not a nice one) and walk away. I walk up to the bar, OK I could really use a drink right about now.
I get my drink from one of the cute bartenders and re-join Olivia, I grab her arm, and we try to make our way through the crowd and onto the dance floor.
We started dancing, and I began enjoying myself, more people came to join us and we were having a great time. The thought of Pete not showing up was fading from my mind, and I took a look around at all the beautiful men surrounding us. There were a couple guys just standing around the dance floor watching Olivia and me dance and as I glanced their way, they smiled.
Wow, there were so many good-looking men here tonight, I told myself to forget all about Pete.
Olivia and I continued dancing for a while, and we said to eachother that we were going to have fun tonight...and we were!!
This one young guy was grabbing my arm to dance the chacha line and I joined the line, he was pretty obnoxious and kept pulling me to dance with him. He totally looked like Eminem - for real..it was funny. I politely refused his pulling and turned around to walk off the dance floor, when who do I see?
Pete, he was just casually standing off to the side of the dance floor, watching me. How long had he been there? Oh my, was he watching me for a while?
He noticed I saw him, and he smiled. THE smile. I smiled back. I have to admit I was pretty happy to see him, I really doubted that he would show up, and I was relieved he did, because I didn't feel as used and upset anymore.
I walked over to him and said "Hi" He said "you're a pretty good dancer, you look like you're having fun" I said "I'm trying,I'm glad you're here though, I didn't think you'd show up tonight" He smiled again. He said "What kind of guy do you think I am? I told you I would find you, didn't I?" I nodded and smiled. He put his arm around me. Olivia came over to us, and said "hey, you showed up!" Pete looked at her and said "what is that supposed to mean?" Olivia smiled and said "oh nothing"
Another song came on, Olivia's favorite apparantly, so she grabbed me and said "Let's go dance, c'mon Pete" He said he'd join us in a bit, after he got a drink. We went on the floor and started dancing. Olivia smiled "See, he's here, look at the way he looks at you, he's really into you girl" I didn't know what to say, I just danced around. The same two guys were still watching us from earlier and grinning. Man, it's a weird feeling to know you are being watched, I felt eyes on me from everywhere now, and also knowing Pete was there watching me too...
Oh know, here comes my Eminem friend trying to dance with me again, he was grabbing me, trying to pull me close to him, I was trying to pull away, Olivia dragged me away from him, and we walked up to where Pete was. Eminem followed and continued trying to grind up against me. Olivia pushed him away, this guy wouldn't leave. She told him I was with Pete. She pointed to Pete, then to me and said "together" very sarcastically. Pete looked annoyed. Olivia told Eminem again that I was with Pete, she motioned to me and him. Olivia was getting worked up, and she was all sweaty. Eminem didn't care. Pete told him to get away from us, I could tell he was getting mad.
Oh no...here we go, I really didn't want to create a scene.
I looked at Olivia, she was NOT looking good at all.
Pete said "Let's get out of here." I nodded. I agreed we should go, I pulled myself away from the Eminem look-alike AGAIN (before Pete was able to hit him) and dragged Olivia out of the club.
Once we got outside,Olivia walked up to some chairs, there were a couple guys there that she had met a few days ago. She was talking to them, while Pete and I sat down and talked. I hoped once she got some fresh air, she would feel better. It was pretty hot outside though, with no real breeze to cool off. I told him I was worried about her, and told him about what she was smoking and drinking earlier.
The guy she was talking to took her hand and told her to come wit him for a walk. I was keeping an eye on her, and told her not to go too far, there were pools all around and I didn't want her to fall in, I wasn't really in the mood for that type of scene.
She was staggering around and she really looked horrible.
The guy and her stopped. They were standing on the hotels mini golf course. Olivia was holding onto the railroad sign for support, she was vomitting.
Pete looked at me with a disgusted look, "Oh my" he said. I apologized for her condition, and said I was glad it wasn't me, but I needed to look out for her. He said I was such a good friend, and he liked that about me.
As Pete and I were getting closer, almost embracing, raedy to kiss, I heard a huge thud. I looked away from Pete.
BOOM, down went Olivia. She passed out and fell right on the railroad mini golf course hole.
OH MY GOD!! I ran to her, I was praying she wasn't dead. I was so scared, thinking she may have overdosed or something. When I got to her, the guy she was with looked scared too. He said he was going to get help. I checked her out, her head JUST missed hitting the cement walkway, she was vomitting. Thank God she was breathing. She was partially unconscious, and looked horrible. I tried talking to her, calling her name, hoping she would come to. She opened her eyes a bit, I asked her if she was OK, she just looked at me. She started vomitting again. I held her hair back. Pete was beside me and said he was going to get her some water and find some towels to clean her up. I was greatful for him being there. I loved him at that moment, for helping me help Olivia. I tried propping Olivia up a bit, I didn't want her to start choking on her own vomit. She was in and out of consciousness. It was hard for me to try and lift her body up, she is about 3 times my size, and I was struggling. Pete returned with some towels and water. I wiped Olivia off and gave her some water. I was still scared.
I really wished Dolly was here, she sure picked the right time to not be here!!

The guy Olivia was originally talking to came back with some security guards, and they asked me what she had been drinking. "Tequila?" they asked. I shook my head no. "Paralyzers" I said. They looked at me, eyes wide. "Paralyzers?" They asked "Well, she look like she paralyzed now!!"
I gave them a bit of a smirk...they were right about that. The two guards were talking amongst themselves about how they were going to get Olivia back to our room. I heard one say to the other to get the wheelbarrow.
I looked at them, and I almost laughed. I looked at Pete and said "wheelbarrow?"
Pete looked at me, then at Olivia and said "She's a big fatty girl, she need to get to your room somehow"
The security guards got the lawn wheelbarrow and tried to get Olivia into it. The sides were quite high, and no one could lift her into it. She slumped back onto the ground.
The one guard said he would look for a chair to get her into. I kept talking to her telling her she was going to be OK. She was mumbling sorry to me about ruining my night with Pete. I told her not to worry. I was just happy she was going to be OK.
I couldn't believe this was all happening..what luck!!
The guard came back, this time with a wheel chair. Pete, the other guy, and the two security guards tried lifting up Olivia, with all of them, they finally got her into the wheel chair. She was completely passed out. I told them where our room was, and the two guards pushed the chair to the elevator. I followed. At some point, Pete either got a hold of Dolly and Paul, or they called, I can't quite remember.
Pete said he was going to look for them, I nodded and went up the elevator with the guards and Olivia.
When we got to our room, my card would not open the door.
GREAT!! Here was Olivia, passed out in the hallway in a wheelchair with two security guards (believe me this was NOT a pretty sight) and we couldn't open our door.
I was just about to go down to the lobby, when Dolly ran up to us.
"THANK GOD you're here!!! " I said
Dolly looked at Olivia. She pulled out some cards out of her pocket and said she got new keys reprogrammed, and opened the door. The guards rolled the wheelchair into the room and sked what they should do with her. We told them to dump her onto one of the beds. They did just that and said "Good luck, She need some sleep and she feel better in the morning"
I really hoped so.
Dolly looked at me and asked what the heck went on tonight. I went on to explain the entire nights events. She really didn't know what to say.
I told her we couldn't leave Olivia here like this. I really wanted to see Pete and spend time with him, but I couldn't leave Olivia here alone, what if something happened to her, what if she stopped breathing?
Dolly said she would stay there too to keep an eye on her. We, as friends needed to do that for her.
Dolly said she had to run downstairs and tell Paul she had to "babysit" Olivia with me.
I told her to apologize (once again) to Pete about running out on him. She said she would explain the situation to him for me.
She left and went down to the lobby.
I sat on the bed and looked at Olivia. She looked horrible. I wiped her off with a clean, wet towel and tried to tuck her in. I hoped she would be OK.
I sat on my bed and turned the TV on. So much for my Saturday night. I was feeling pretty down, I was really looking forward to hanging out with Pete. We were supposed to go for a drive, and out to another club. Now I was stuck here babysitting.
The phone rang. I picked it up. It was Pete.
"Hi baby" he said.
"Hows your friend doing?"
I smiled. It was so nice to hear his voice.
I said she was sleeping.
He asked if I was going to come down and go out with him. I said I couldn't leave her like this.
He said he understood., I told him to come up here and we could hang out. He said he couldn't, the security didn't allow guests. I said if he really wanted to he could come up. He said he couldn't.
I thought if he really wanted to, he could have come up, he was able to freely roam about the hotel all the time, while Paul never even came onto the property, so he obviously knew people there....
Oh well, what could I say. I asked him what he was going to do, he said he was going home to sleep and dream about me, and think about what we would do together tomorrow.
He asked if I wanted to see him tomorrow. I said if he wanted to get together, I was fine with that.
He said "Yes, darling Danielle, I want to spend as much time as I possibly can with you, if you allow me too."
I smiled, such a smooth talker he was.
I said "good-bye"
He said "Not, good-bye, goodnight"
He said he would call me tomorrow.
I said "OK"
I hung up.
I looked at Olivia, I resented her a bit at that moment (I hate to admit it) but I did.
I only had one more night left here, and look what I was doing.

Dolly returned and we continued chatting. She told me Paul was pretty upset about not being able to spend the night with her too.
She then went on to tell me that they (Pete and Paul) went out. I was a bit annoyed.
"They went out?" I asked
"Yeah" she said, "They were going to amnesia or something"
"Oh really?" I said. There went my hopes of Pete being a nice guy. So he was just another player.
"He told me he was going home" I said. So much for thinking he was not like all the rest of them.
My heart fell. I was back into believing I was just being used. Damn I hate this.
I asked Dolly how her night was, she said she really liked Paul and they were having a great time, until Pete called.
I asked her how things were going between them and if he tried anything. She looked down, I looked at her, and said "You didn't."
She nodded.
Oh my.
I looked at her, and she looked so guilty. I felt like I needed to share my "experience" with her.
I said, "Well, since we are sharing, I have a confession to make..."
I began to tell her of the "buffet table night"
I thought she would feel better knowing she wasn't the only one who fell under the "Jamaican" spell.
Dolly was wide-eyed when I told her what happened between Pete and me.
We chit-chatted late into the night. She told me what happened and the details of her and Paul, and I shred mine.
I was still a bit upset about finding out Pete went out, probably looking to get with someone else tonight, since I was unavailable.
I again vowed not to let myself get down by a guy, besides I was leaving in a day, what did I expect, there was no way I would be able to have a relationship with this guy, it was just a vacation fling, I should just leave it at that.
I went to sleep telling myself that I would probably never see him again, and I was going to be OK with that. I would just enjoy the last day of my holiday, and have a good time. Without Pete.
We get to the club, and it is packed. There are people everywhere. I wonder how Dolly is doing, at least her man showed up and wants to see her..
OK, I will not let myself get down.
