(in my case, Big Brother is alive and well in my office, so i can read but can't post from there. it kills me to haffi wait til i'm home to catch up with ya'll. and it has been peer hayul following along here and not saying anything! Argh!

We wake up early for our daily breakfast at Fisherman’s Beach. After breakfast, we learn quickly that Marilyn has quite the adventure planned for us. She has been trying all week to get Classy to go on her morning jog of 5 miles. Classy and THE HAIR were not hearing it. So, Marilyn decides that we will “walk” the One Love Trail instead. We are enjoying this stroll because Marilyn is doing her best tour director impersonation as she points out the sights. She has this impersonation down to a tee with the phony accent…the too serious personality…and the pointed “steeple” hands as she discuss various aspects of our tour. When she is not pointing something out to us…she is walking with her hands clasped tightly behind her back. Every time a tour bus rides by…she tells us to wave to the suckers…she feels so bad for them because they missed the One Love Tour walk-a-thon.

Along the way, we stop at a mini-beach because we originally thought we could walk the sand to the hidden waterfall…but upon further inspection…we would actually have to swim…far. We soak up the atmosphere…and I finally get to commune with my Jamaican sand and water. We were complaining about our feet hurting from too much dancing in spiked heel shoes. So we all take our shoes off and allow the sand to gently exfoliate our soles. The feeling was almost orgasmic. I was sighing like a well stroked kitty. *no pun intended*

We soon make our way back up the grassy knoll to the One Love trail. At this point, I am asking how much further Papa Smurf…Marilyn responds…not much longer babies…soon we approach Mrs. Viola’s Herb shop…she has everything in this little shop.



I ask for sugar cane. I originally ask for a small tiny…tiny piece…I just want to taste it. I give a piece to Mrs. Viola’s grandson…and he gladly accepts it…but is not as accepting of the camera.



The other ladies order coconuts…Marilyn and I try the water…but I’m not too fond of it. The sugarcane is so sweet…the nectar is dribbling down my chin. I cannot believe how sweet and succulent it is. I request more sugar cane as the girls sip the coconut wata…and delve into the jelly. Sistacaf is a little disappointed because her coconut is more mature…the inside is crunchy…not jelly. Marilyn is fit to be tied because we are thoroughly enjoying her tour and her Ochi. Classy then orders pinapple…I taste a small piece…and it is wonderful. We pack this treat up for later and promise to stop back by to get some tonic for Sistacaf.

From Auntie's perspective Baby J needs a serious curfew, because when I am talking to Mom late at night he is still rambling. He can't sleep, he might miss something.lol

*sorry for the delay*

We head up the street…and we are contemplating our excursion to the waterfall.


How do we make it down without breaking our necks? Well, lo and behold, a gentleman stops us at the meadow and tells us to just follow the dirt path. He joins us just as we reach the side of the hill…which is quite muddy and narrow. He helps Sassy down first. She is like a waterfall climbing expert…she is all over the falls…standing under the streams.




Marilyn decides this is just too cool…and decides her best pictures will not be standing up on the hill.


That leaves me…Classy and Sistacaf standing there watching the two of them frolicking in the water. Sistacaf is caught in a moment of quiet reflection…she is with us…but her mind and heart are a million miles away.



Sistacaf decides to take the plunge…and literally runs down the muddy hill…Zzzzzzzzzzzzzooomm!!! Now, she is under the waterfall. Classy and I are standing there crying and complaining because we have on heavy jeans…and we know that we cannot make the walk back with heavy wet jeans on. We wish for a minute that the guy would disappear so we could slip off our jeans and wade in our undies. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img] The guy asks us if we want to at least get our feet wet. We say what the heck…and descend slowly…slippity…slidediity…down the hill.

I hit a slippery spot on the rocks…the guide gently holds me up so I don’t land on my butt. I can feel the wonderful cool spray on my back from the falls. The breeze is soft and mellow. We all turn around at once because Classy has yelped to the heavens…she hit her toe on a rock…ouch! She is wearing her baseball cap and her hair has self-wrapped itself for protection. We all pose for pictures, then Sassy tells us to venture out to the warm springs that are co-mingling with the cool water. It was truly awesome. I would never find something like this in Georgia. The water was warm enough for bathing. We are like little kids…picking up rocks for Sassy’s collection…sighing when she deems it not worthy enough. When our fingers and toes get all pruney and raisiny…we decide it’s time to go. Marilyn, Sassy and Sistacaf leave Classy and I in their dust.

Classy and I are making a futile attempt to remove the mud and rocks from our feet so that we can put our socks and sneakers back on…the guide sees this…and goes down to the waterfall…comes back with enough water to wash our feet off. This is the second time that a Jamaican man has washed my feet…is there any wonder that I am desperate to get back in July?
