I understand what you mean about surviving the bad stuff and discovering that element that helps you to heal. Yeh dahling, Jamaica will sooth your soul.

I truly hope things are better for you now. After my trip, I was able to start putting things in perspective. I'm still working on a few, but I am much more focused thanks to being in Jamaica.

Vi you're so sweet, thanks for making me feel so welcome. i was in jamaica for one week...it was way too short. i stayed at breezes in runaway bay, but i did get to get off the "reservation" a couple of times. i loved it. funny at the resort i had more fun talking with all the employees than the guests.
you are right since my trip i too have been able to put some things into perspective and start dealing with the ones i can't change. some how i'm just calmer overall...
unfortunately july is out of the question, i have to sell a house, buy a house....and then there is always that money monster...maybe next year.

I didn’t mean to discourage you in any way. Our circumstances are different…You are going with your fine hubby (I went with a bunch of women who wore strawhats and floral print EVERYTHING and were too afraid to go anywhere without each other) , You are going at a better time of year (I went in January). You will be vacationing (I was coordinating a wedding) and your location is much better (we stayed at a hotel in the city. No hot water in the morn and NO BAR!!!!).

The DR just wasn’t a “fit” for me. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] Yet I’ve heard where others have gone there and had the time of their life. I’ve also talked to some peeps who (do I even dare to utter the words???) hated our beloved Jamaica.

Perhaps if I were to go under the same circumstances as you, things may be different. But I’ve become a Jamaicaholic so…that…may…NEVA…happen. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Girl go and have a ball. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] [/qb]

ok I feel better...you are right...and thanks for the compliments on my "fine hubby"...his head will grow three sizes if I tell him you said that.
I'll come back with pics and a trip report....but posted in the caribbean connection forum. Shortee repawt is AWESOME but cause a ruckus wid one of di membas. Go figure...misery SEEKS to FIND company!

Vi, thanks a million for sharing your story. I could not go to sleep until I finished it. This is one of the most best reports I've read. You have a gift I felt so many emotions while reading this. I loved my first trip to Jamaica so innocent and naive I was. I hadn't found this site yet and wasn't equipped with the do's and dont's. It was one of the best trips of my life and your report reminded me of that. So much of it was familiar.

Hi ((( Ms. Laurel ))) – I haven’t forgotten about you dahlin. Just need to chisel out the time to get back to ya. Don’t know what’s in store for us on this upcoming trip, but I am ready ready READY!!! When you love being in Jamaica as much as we, every visit becomes more and more enlightening. Not to mention more additive.

There’s no more to this story…it done. But in 19 days…the adventures will continue!

((( Ilibee ))) sweets, I know what you mean about getting away from the resort and the tourist. I couldn't wait to finally find a friendly face.

Like I said, I’m still working on some things in my life. One major issue is these two dang jobs. I know by my fourth day I’ll be so relaxed I’ll be able to focus on how to make those changes. You know it’s almost a shame that I have to go thousands of mile away to think properly. I agree with you. I found Jamaica has that calming effect on me. It’s a place where I can truly say to myself…Don’t worry, bout a ting..cos every likkle ting, gonna be alright.

I wish you the best with your housing adventure. Been there so I know how stressful and unpredictable it can be. But keep 2005 in mind for your next trip. Don’t let too much time lapse before you return. And stay close to us here. Pop in every once in a while even just to say “Hi”.

Hey Tee Tee!

Thank you kindly…I’m glad you enjoyed it. I also didn’t find this site until after I booked so I didn’t have time to really take advantage of the wealth of information here. However, like you I still had a ball and looking forward to the next.

This time I have much to look forward to experiencing thanks to Marilyn, Orbra, Angie, Sammy, Schultz, and Princess1. They’ve answered a billion questions and share my excitement of finally getting there again. So many others have been extremely encouraging like Laurel, Dr. Bones, jah mouse, PastLifeJamaica, BlueAngel, sjb, SugarShug, ilibee --- OOOhhhh Tee Tee I shouldn’t be naming names because I’m sure I’m forgetting someone. If I did, please forgive me.

But anyway with all that said, this site has provided so much for me. A place I can run to when I need to be close to Jamaica, a place where I have developed true, lasting friendships, a place where I can have any question about Jamaica quickly and eagerly answered. Yes can’t wait to get to Ochi…aaaah yeah!!!!!
