Sorry. Crisis here at work. I haven't had time to respond all day. I will post another segment tonight. Ale, only the "hotsy-totsy" places can get away with the "Per Person" rates. It is $25 per night per room and, yes, Shereth is going to honor the Boardite Club Card even though she hasn't "hofficially" joined yet. She said she will give a $5 US per room/per night discount (but also hopes those that take her up on the offer will spend some money on food and drinks too! but it is not required.)

I will post later this evening. Now, all of you...GO BACK TO WORK OR AT LEAST PRETEND YOU ARE! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Part 4

I knew it must be close to sunrise but I still had not opened my eyes to check. Instead, I used my ears to see if I could get a clue as to the time. I heard a couple of whispers and then realized that it had been so quiet that the smallest of sounds could be discerned!

Chez (on the right) and Troy (the left), Shereth's son and brother were skimming the pool and sweeping the deck and, when I opened my eyes to check, it wasn't even daylight yet! That's right! Partytime tonight and everyone was excited and wanted to put the best face on the property.

I got up and showered and put on my hiking boots as I wanted to explore the area before the sun got too high in the sky. I walked around the area and found some interesting people and places to explore. One place was a stable of about 20 horses that guests used to ride regularly. The owner was just getting the horses some feed and water when I approached.
Suddenly, I realized that when I really wanted to take a picture, I had forgotten to bring the camera! Luckily, the owner gave me this picture of his personal horse in the stable and of a rider that was a frequent visitor in previous years.

Just after noon, I returned to the Guest House to find preparations in high gear. The drinks man was unloading the refreshments.

And Foundation Sound was setting up the music for the night.


The man came with 50 pounds of chickens that went into the kitchen for seasoning and a large goat was bled, skinned and prepared for the curry goat that would be a main course on the menu.

Part 5

"PARTY TIME!



During the day several young ladys who hoped to win the "String and Hipster" contest to be held later in the evening donned their slightest of apparel and graced the pool's surroundings which did wonders for the vibe that was building so, when the sun went down, the party heated up!

Foundation Sound orginates from Sheffield and a group of their followers started arriving until a crowd of about 250 was pulsating to the beat. One thing I really noticed was that everyone just smiled [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] and greeted everyone else with a or hug. Whether it be out of Respect! for Shereth and what she was bringing back to the area or just the pure Roots Feeling going on that evening, something exciting and Real was happening!

I was having a ball talking and watching the crowd undulate around the sound man when I noticed the arrival of a group I did not recognize. I could tell by the smiles on their faces that they new me and I knew it was Jahbuddah and her crew. We hugged and tried to talk as best we could over the massive sound while sitting at the end of the bar. JB wanted to dance and nothing was going to get in her way as she moved on out to the verandah to sit.

I stayed in the bar when I saw the always recognizable blonde hair of Sienna coming my way! :love: We talked for a short time when she took me out to the parking area to meet Coffeegyal (Mr. Coffee (man) [img]/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img] ) and Sala. We talked and laughed for what seemed like hours while enjoying the vibe and the music. I really seemed like one of those perfect evenings as the crowd swelled to an estimated 350 or more!

People were dancing on the roof, around the bar and verandah as well as on the stairs all around the property!

I finally hit the bed at 5:00am and when I poked my head out the door at about 9:00am, the place looked like a party had never happened except for the sound boxes which were neatly stacked and covered at poolside.

All I could say at this point is that Shereth and her Crew finished a wonderful party with a lot of hard work. Only right to introduce them. Left to right (Standing) Jerome, Shereth and Chez. (Seated) Nicki and Mel.

Three days left to enjoy this place before my friend and I having to go home.

The picture was taken with a long time-lapse setting and the naturally looking white light emitting fluorescent bulbs put off differing heat patterns which show up as different spectrum colors.

In other words..... Looks great, huh? Yes, the bar is on the left and the restaurant is on the right side of the picture.

I promised Shereth to use that picture on the Web Site being put together.

Bill thanks for letting people know about this place. I'll be taking my first trip in July and am already planning my second. One of the great things I have learned from this Board is aboout supporting the local economy.

Looks like a great place to stay Bill! Love the poolside rooms with the gardens mingled in. Sounds like you had a good trip!

Part 6

Well, the final day was here [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] My traveling companion, now affectionately known only as Daddy and I had to get a transport to the airport to leave at 4:30am to make our 8:30am flight back to Ft. Lauderdale.

After a quiet dinner where neither of us barely spoke, I told "daddy" I would wake him at about 3:45am so he could get ready to go. He surprised me by refusing to go!

I guess I should have seen this coming as he was having trouble holding a fork when we arrived and now he was eating freely. He had also put his cane with a folding seat away and was walking each morning around the property. The debilitating effects of an earlier stroke were becoming less and less restrictive. The daily massage techniques were working wonders!



I asked Shereth if she could take care of "daddy" for another week or so and she agreed so it was set. I would be leaving in the morning to have my friend pick us up at the airport without his father!

After taking a little nap, I heard the pots rattling in the kitchen and realized Shereth was cleaning up before retiring. She wanted to accompany me to the airport in the morning as she always has done and I appreciated the thoughtfulness. I looked at the clock. It was 1:10am and the 19th of May..... Shereth's Birthday!

I went into the kitchen to catch a quick snack and to wish her a "Happy Birthday". We scrounged around in the refrigerator and found a plantain to fry, 4 hot dogs to boil and a slice of wheat bread each. I really like being around Shereth as she appreciates me for who and what I am and I don't have to make any pretenses.

We laughed and chatted for at least an hour but, as the time went on, a sadness was creeping over the conversation. I hate goodbyes and so does she. She patted my hand and pointed to my new room at the top of the main house. "Soon Come....my friend...Soon Come!" I nodded while wiping a tear from the corner of my eye. Sixty Two Trips over Twenty Two years and it all comes down to Soon Come!

With that happy thought in mind, I could rest. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]ray:
