Wonderful pictures of my favorite place.

I, too, took my 18 year old daughter as a graduation present hoping she would grasp a bigger sense of just her own little world. It was also my biggest pleasure to watch her experience it.

I blew up several of my shots at Benji's for my walls - it makes me happy every day.

Great Report on Benji's.

I would highly recommend going to Benji's for the day. He's an excellent host and Mr. Livingston cooks killer ital food. This place is very relaxing, lovely vibes and just a miracle of nature. The river is refreshing and fun. This is not as tough of a day trip as going to Mayfields. Don't get me wrong...love Mayfield but get beat up in those waters everytime. A trip to Benji's is much more relaxing. Sala or I think these ladies drove with Tado...they make excellent choices for drivers. Please go and enjoy a lovely day at the river with Benji you wont regret it.

Goldi, your pictures are great. I am glad to finally get a glimpse of Benji's place. When I was there, no one wanted to take me. You and the Queen had a full van, Marilyn didn't want to go the next day, then the tour started. I want to go for a vist really bad. IT sounds very much like my kind of place, somewhere to sit and meditate while cooling yourself in the river. To end the day with Ital food, wow, just what the doctor ordered. DO you have more pictures?

Goldi, that was my January trip. I took Sean for his Graduation. He has never been the same since. The food thing is slow coming, he at least tries everything.

I left him in the company of my male friends a few nights... THAT had to be a life changing experience!!

Anyway, like someone said above, it was incredible just being able to give him such a gift. And being there with him to see him experience all their was to see and taste and smell that is so different from everything he's known growing up. THAT was the gift I gave myself.

Hey (((Angie!))), You'll get there, and you will love it! I do have some more pix, but I need to get permission from the people in them to post them, so we'll see.

QK, we think alike! My daughter has changed drastically since her trip and we've only been back 3 weeks (seems like 3 years). She seems more focused and has been more considerate, helping around the house more, etc., instead of the "party all the time" thing she was falling into before our trip. She loved the fact that she could order a drink in a bar, too bad she didn't have enuff $$ to buy it out. And of course she likes the frozen drinks for about $4 or $5 a pop! She learned a lot down home!

At one point, I was in the pool at Benji's happily scooping the jelly out of my coconut, and odda modda says to my daughter, "Your mother's Jamaican!" Yep, and get used to it! cuz mi a tell ya, mi gawn fram dis place as soon as my boy is grown! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Oh, Sammy I am so sorry! I even started to cross the street to Selina's but then my friend pulled up in the van so I had to go take care of business.....but next time, and no I'm not cutting my hair so I'll be easy to spot.

I used all my film in the river (one of those waterproof cameras) and don't have any of Benji's little cottage or the garden. I think my friend has those, I'll tief dem when she brings the discs in.....
