Ahhh Bob....Didn’t do anything to honor him this trip....Wait I did pass one of his homes in Little Bay.
This is the area that the Italian army was using while they were in town helping to repair roofs from the damage that Ivan caused.
One the way back I bought a mango----why, because the young man selling it looked so cute. Of course I had a camera malfunction and didn’t get his picture. I stopped at my favorite place, Fatties for my last brekkie in JA and told everyone bye. I asked for Strongman, but he was out driving his taxi.
I decided to get brown stewed chicken with my ackee since I wasn’t sure when I would be eating again today.
When I got back to the room Tonya and Stacy were packing everything up. I went out on the balcony to have my last breakfast and enjoy the wind and the heat whipping against my body. As is usually when you are having fun, time flies by. Before I know it there is a knock on the door signaling the end of my adventures in JA. I opened the door expecting to see Sala and I met Gilbert and Lindsae. I invited them in and asked them to take a seat. Gilbert is Sala’s father and David and Barry’s brother. We grabbed up the last of our things and started to pack the car. The ladies had a great idea of leaving our magazines with the ladies at the receptionist desk. We also gave Lindsae some magazines. I go to the receptionist desk to turn in the many keys and to thank the ladies for the wonderful service. Too soon we are in the car and pulling out of the front gate. As I pass by the boys in front of the motorcycle rental shop I wave. I settle in for the ride. Gilbert can tell that I’m not too happy to be leaving. Although I know it’s time to go, I do regret the fact that I have to leave. All types of ideas, like sending for little miss and just staying here, float through my head, but are quickly replaced by reality. The fantasy is cool, but reality dictates that I would need more $$$$ to extend this trip. I’m up front with Gilbert and Stacy and Tonya are dying laughing in the back seat. As we are ridding out of town-Tonya yells stop. She sees the pattie stand where we got our perfect patties from. The trip to MoBay was crazy. Gilbert had me laughing with his driving and his accent. He had such a deep voice that I had to keep getting him to repeat himself to understand what he was saying. We stopped and got some coconut water. We also saw all these kids from different parts of the country getting out of school. Too soon we were at Sangster for our dropoff, but then......
I wanted to respond to some of the questions I was asked. I realize that a couple of these people are enjoying JA as I type. Peace
Green Biscuit-I’m glad that the pics could bring you some happiness. I love looking at them. I was in JA at the last week of April/the first week of May.
Rudemonk-If little miss even thought about doing that stuff, I’d be somewhere having a heart attack!
Shesuk-Yes Tonya took all of those photos.
Diamond Dave-Today you are probably in mourning since you'll be coming back from JA. YesI hope that the lessons of dignity and respect for self and others are lessons that children all over the world could learn.
Lynett, littlekay, and Seveen thanks!
Momma King-I’ll pm you with more info.
Cris-I didn’t just brush him off. It was just the begging that was sad. It made me think what kind of situation are you in that you are begging someone that you’ve know for a second. I just made me think about gratefulness and my personal life situation and on my last day in paradise I was trying to be a little more relaxed and not so reflective. That’s not what my last day is for-its supposed to be about me, me me !
Thanks Liz-I love that photo also, it make me sad that I never took my sunset cruise-but oh well, that’s what the next trip is for right!!
2 Hours To Go!!!
Ok so what I didn’t mention is that Stacy and Tonya needed to get to the airport 2 hours before I did.
My original plan was to check in my luggage at Air JA and get a taxi to town and see what I could see of MoBay. When I got into the car with Gilbert I asked him if he would drive me around for the 2 hours and that’s just what happened. After I said bye to Stacy and Tonya and wished them a safe flight we stopped at a bar. Let me tell you that was an experience. I was thirsty, but I also had to use the bathroom. When we all got out of the car, I went up to the lady behind the bar and ask is there a bathroom. She says that it is in the back. Now when I get into the back I see this.
I can’t believe how beautiful it is out here, but my bladder is calling. Now I have a dilemma-there are 3 doors in front of me and I’m not sure which one to go through. I go through the first door and it’s a long hallway. I start to walk down this dark hallway and I see two men. One is standing inside of a kitchen to my right and another is lounging in my chair to the left. I ask where is the bathroom. They say huh. I ask again for the bathroom. The one inside of the kitchen tells me to come. I start to follow him thinking-where am I going? The older man lounging says-you want to go the bathroom. I go yeah-He gives the young man a dirty look, grabs my hand and asks me to follow him. He takes me to the bathroom. I say thanks and think-where was that other man gonna take me?
When I finish I walk back to the front of the bar. A lot of local men are around discussing the runnings. I ordered a Diet Coke and tried to get comfortable. There was this dark, dark man with about 5 front teeth that was giving me the yeye. I was going Yuck in my head. The men were all talking so fast and being so animated that I couldn’t keep up with the conversation. As I’m zoning out, I can feel that they are talking about me. The man with no teeth I saying all this stuff and then looking at me with this dirty grin. I still have no idea what is going on, but all I hear is yelling, laughing and joking. I did catch a little bit here and there and it was making me blush. I go over to Lindsae and ask them what are they saying, because she is also in the corner blushing. Well two of them were describing......what they would do to me and their prowess. After the convo died down. No teeth slinks over to me and is talking all close up in mi face. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.....his boys start laughing at him because I think the horror showed on my face. He finally, thankfully leaves. I ask the men sitting around the bar if I could take their pictures and I wander outside to absorb the beauty and just so happy that I have my 2 more hours. Once I come back in I start talking to Lindsae. She is such a sweetie pie. She told me that she has graduated from school, but is looking for a job. She says that it’s boring sitting all day in the house and that she really wants to work. After hanging out a little while longer we get back into the car.
