I really hope all the GF's will post some photos! I love to see everybody's shots - even of the same things!!

Just as I told B only yesterday .... we were chatting about all the different Artists that visit The Bird and paint their 'version' of the scenery & images they view of that property and the surroundings .... you see things very familiar in each painting - but what a thrill I get in the 'differences' of each 'hand' ... I love the beauty in EACH!!

I totally agree. See the picture of the waterfall Rasta that Mokatee took completes that set, she got the shot I didn't get. I hope Tippi and Baby B and Dr. O will post some of theirs. Angie and her girls took some underwater shots which I don't have, and altogether this could be a really spectacular posts if everyone puts them here, or make their own, either one.

A little story, but I had to ask permission first.
I'm walking down the beach in Negril with two of the ladies and we run into Laurel....early morning...make up perfect, hair flawless, in a bright royal blue swim suit and wrap, camera in hand, just looking glorious.

So we stop and talk and there is a man near by playing with two pretty little girls in the surf.

As we talk, the daddy is bent over hovering over his little ladies as they enjoy the early morning Negril beach.

Suddenly he straightens up and says
"Marilyn????"

I look up into the face of Xavier himself and just squeal

"XAVIER!!!!!!!!!!WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?????"

(editorial note.....Xavier is Jamaican, it's his country....duh....not mine. lol)

"SSSSHHHHHHHHHhhh I'm on the DL, I snuck in and I do NOT want anyone to know I am here." (editorial note, I have just told the whole 7 mile beach with my loud behind.)

Laurel has never met him, so she introduced herself, and I introduce Baby B's Mom and explain that this is the man that made it possible for all of us to know each other. She is impressed.

So we leave him and his bathing beauties to their vacation, but it was just such a pleasnt and unexpected thing to happen on that morning.

So I just snap all the time. As for this one....I think I unnerve Orbra because I LOVE shooting her. I missed THE picture of the century though. WHen Dennis was raging the water was pouring off the roof of the hotel. Orbra had on this floating magenta pink lawny dressy thing that morning. Spontaneously, she leaned back and let the rain water of Dennis flow freely all over her face and drench her locks. She closed her eyes and it was an almost sensual moment between her and the hurricane. It said. "You do not scare or intimidate me, your fury renews and electrifies and excites me."
I ran for my camera, but by the time I got the darn thing to open, she had returned to an upright position and I had missed the moment. But you get the pciture anyway.

See Orbra is a classic beauty, and she wears NO MAKE UP, I mean none, and she just looks flawless like that all the time, and this night she was late getting dressed, so we had left her. She told us to go ahead to secure the reservations and she would come on her own. This means that all the rest of us were seated, and she fairly FLOATED into Evitas.

Yall I swear, there was almost an audible gasp from everyone in that restaurant, and for a moment in time all eyes were on her, and the poor waiters almost tripped.

I know for me and Angie there was this feeling "Yeah!!!!! that's MY girlfriend". You are just so proud when you are with beautiful ladies and they do you proud and make you feel proud to be with them.

Lord Miss Evita was in her element. She just stayed at our table, and thanked us over and over and over for giving her restaurant the respect it deserved by dressing for the evening. Look like she was thinking " thank GOd for someone who is not in hiking shorts and sandals."

But yeah I talked to Diamond Dave last night and he said that this picture just sleighs him. Does it for me too.

Here's a story for you.

We were coming back, I think from Firefly, our driver this day is an older man named Mr. Bobby.

I spot one of those bars and say let's stop for a drink.

Sitting at the bar is this guy who looked like a Middle aged-thinner-Don Johnson type with maybe a day or two beard stubble growing. Cool, laid back content, sipping on his rum and coke out of a styro cup in the middle of nowhere in Jamaica.

I circle him a couple of times, and as the girls use the restroom and get drinks, I go in for the kill.

I just walk right up to the man and say. "Ok, what's your story?"

He looks me right back in the eye and says, "what's yours?"
I said "Hi, I'm Marilyn, co-owner of Girlfriend Tours International, and our business is bringing ladies to Jamacia who may not have travel companions."

He then tells me that he is ______ he owns a villa in this town, and he is married to a former Miss Jamaica World."

So I say "where is your villa, do you rent it out."

"Yes, and it is just down the road."

"Well, can we go see it?"

"Sure"

So with that, I load everyone back in the van, including Mr. Jamaica World, and off we go to see the villa. Mr. Bobby looks like he is going to have a stroke. Picking up a perfect stranger and going God knows where with a van full of women.

Yall the house is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! and he is now about the business of building gazebo's and landscaped gardens and just this little fairy tale land for his Miss Jamaica World.

She is currently in New York for a few weeks, shopping or something. He is from Texas, and probably owns oil wells or something.

But he opened his home to us, and proudly pointed out pictures of his wife, which are all over the walls here and there.

The house also has a seperate detached cottage you can rent. Oh it was the bomb alright.

He didn't know the prices, Miss Jamaica World handles all of that, he just gives her the money to do her projects and asks no questions (yeah I was hatin).

So we hang out there about an hour (could someone post pictures if you took any), and then we load back in the van and take him back to the bar to sit happily on his stool with his rum and coke until the wife returns home.

.....and that is how I create adventures on a day that were unexpected.
