3rd time is the charm! And just like in Ocho Rios, Marilyn had to guide me like a baby. The nice thing, though, was that - once I just gave in and decided to do whatever she said - I had a wonderful time. I'm not much of a follower at heart, but I'll follow Marilyn anywhere!

BTW, my knees are still sore from all of the bowing I had to do, Miss M.

Seriously, I only have a few - I refuse to show the ones I totally messed up because all of yours (and Mokatees) look so good. But I think I may have a few to share once I get back from my lunch date. I'll post them this afternoon now that I know how. This pic, though, was my favorite. You look good, girl!

This was a fun day for me. I love it when things like that come up on a day when you were "just planning to go to Port Maria and Firefly" ,and end up going in a totally unexpected direction.
That is how I found the bar and the waterfall we went to. I was leaving lunch one day and asked the driver...what's up there? And the rest is history.

Lyntt I loved it that when I planned my day I would ask you "Are you up for an adventure today?" and you would say "lead on".. It always turned out fun and exciting for me as well. You are a very good travel buddy.

Oh puhleeeze - you are such the diva (I mean that in a good way, trust me!) guide. Not only does everyone in Ocho Rios know you, they love you, and with good reason. The way that you let me join the group - not knowing me from Adam - says much about your spirit.

I'm on my way out, but I'm hoping that you will post the story of our night out at Ocean's 11. You know, when you gave the "salsa lesson" and spent the remainder of the evening being plied with alcohol and requests from ardent would-be dance partners. If you don't post the entire story I'll be forced to do so this afternoon. Just a friendly warning!

First of all, Moka, remember that - should you feel the need to let anyone in on our "villa plans" - I will be forced to silence you permanently.

Here's the story on Ocean's 11. First of all, since this was Tuesday night, many of the ladies had already gone home. Since I wasn't able to go the previous week when the large group did Marilyn and Hiphop were gracious enough to accompany me so that I could glean the "Ocean's 11 experience". And it was wonderful.

When we got there, the place was packed. I mean not a chair, not a table, not a space available. Of course, Miss M worked her magic and we were set up in a prime position with a table and chairs that were brought over at her command. (I won't go into the group of . . . ummmm . . . ladies who thought the set up was for them. Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth!) Anyway, we're just chillin at the table, Miss Marilyn is being watched by a nice looking guy at the table next to ours. (I'm not going to get into the Frog that was bothering me . . . if you can't say something good about somebody . . .)

Part of the show at Ocean's 11 for those who don't know is the karoake (I probably spelled that wrong). I will admit, most of the singers were o.k., several were very good, and only a couple were terrible. Anyway, this guy gets up and gets started singing Copacabana - yes, the Barry Manilow song. Somehow the cute guy at the next table approaches Miss M and requests a dance. They clear a swath on the floor - mind you, not a soul was dancing but they made a spot right up front - and those two put on a show that we would have sworn was choreographed if we hadn't known better. [ Now that I think about it, Miss M did disappear for a few minutes earlier in the day. She theoretically could have been spending time with her 'dance partner' to come up with the routine they performed. Hmmmm . . . [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] ]

Anyway, that's the story of how Miss M. worked her magic at Ocean's 11. Not only in getting the owner to set us up in a great spot with a table and chairs, but in garnering praise from all corners of the club for her dancing prowess. Of course, I kinda felt for her - for the remainder of the evening she was inundated with guys asking her to dance. Heck, even the singers kept calling out: "if anyone wants to get up and dance, feel free." By that time, though, I guess she was worn out. I'm sure that all of the free drinks men kept sending her way didn't hurt either.

It's always me and that same song. I couldn't believe it. Course I never Salsa danced before with a partner in my whole life, just watched it on TV. But it sure felt good, and he sure was cute, and how many martini's was that Idrank before the night was over.

What she left out was Mr. Hibuscus Lodge and his cousin who WE had told about Ocean's 11 who showed up and glared at me like I had broken our marriage vows after my dance, and then stood over me and all but cocked his leg and peed to mark his "territory" and glared at my dance partner all evening ,and they were sending me competing martini's....and ....oh it was a great night.

See why mi neva wan go back to Memphis each time.
