Thanks for the kind offer wedinjamaica [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70459-hugs.gif[/img], but I need things NOW!...if I just have the tool loops said she wiill brng for me this month, I should be O.K. until I travel back to the states in May.

What I usually do is order online from Ja. a few days before I'm leaving & have the beads & suppliies sent to my Fla. address, so I receive them when I'm there, and carry them back with me.

Oh My Gosh .... What a fun thread I have been missing!! I will be so thrilled to see you photos and follow your progress.

I have been interested in finding some sort of decent store for furniture and decorating, etc. ... never enuff time on my reaches to do any of that type of shopping ~ maybe this summer.

I am gonna start to bring my bathroom and kitchen sink fixtures down soon ... diggin this style at the moment ..



I have to go search up that magazine you all were talking about.

Ja.Jewel ... What are the stores you use to purchase your fixtures (door knobs / sink faucets, etc.?) Do the typical hardware stores offer styles such as the above fixture? Or would my best bet be to carry with me?

i think i'm going to wrap it up with gauze and duck tape. that way the pointy thing won't make them nervous.

Laurel, ...just saw your post & question. I would say, purchase your faucets & knobs in the states, unless you want to make a trip to Kingston to run around looking. There MIGHT be what you're looking for there, but I really don't know.

I bought my faucets (mixers, in Ja. ) here, but they are nothing special.

I'm so picky about knobs that when I finally found something I could live with, at Home Depot, I thought it was overpriced, so didn't buy any.

Actually, I did find something that was comparable AND a decent price in a place in Falmouth...so, probably will purchase there. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

OK - that is what I thought ... he has a dead bolt lock on our doors with no knob or handle pull of any sort - the back door (closest to the outdoor loo) swells and is too difficult to get open - makes for a long walk to get to the biffy in the middle of the night ... Are the measurements of sink and faucets universal / standard? I can not see me draggin a sink down ... [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img] but I just love that style of faucet.

Laurel, I believe that the measurements must be standard, because many faucets are imported....at least some are. I wish I would have thought to do that when I was shipping everythng down, because I probably would have found something much more to my lking, but I wAS JUST TOTALLY OVERWHELMED with desisions to make during construction, and had to have them so the plumber could do his work, or so I was told...this was going on before I made my big shipment.
