Low budget wedding receptions are also held at the guest house, with a small garden outside for taking pictures.



The picture below provokes a chuckle every time I see it because of the circumstances under which it was taken. On this particular morning I had come down for breakfast, and it caught my attention just below a couple of windows. Since I was taking it in macro mode, I had to get close up to it when much to my surprise, an amorous couple was er...um...getting their groove on, and the young lady certainly wasn't quiet at all! I'm not sure she knew her voice carried beyond the bedroom, but she could have easily been on a megaphone [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img] Then again, they were at the Lovers' Leap Guest House, so what else did I expect? [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif[/img] I quickly took the pic and got out of there!

Nice photos CEW! I love the view from lover's leap.. I have family on the south coast and who has views of the sea but not as unobstructed as the view from lovers' leap </div></div>
even if they went through Newmarket he would pass where i live cause they would have to come through Black River

there is a road through southfield, pass monroe, up to the main & then pass YS Falls..
I know it wasnt the route CEW took as he came via Ferris Cross way (he mentioned Westmoreland).. Still.. One of my favorite drives in JA is from Mo Bay to St Best [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70409-waytogo.gif[/img]

We did take that route on Friday when we were going to Treasure Beach and the Falls, as one of the persons on the trip graduated from the Bible College there and he wanted us to see it.

I had not seen a paypaya tree in years, and so it was pretty cool to see this one. Not only that, but we had the one that was ripe with breakfast that morning.

Nice pictures CEW... takes me back to the first time I went to Lover's Leap! I had been living in Treasure Beach for quite some time, but I had never done any of the things that I recommended the visiting tourists to do (Lover's Leap, YS Falls, Alligator Pond, etc.) So I started going to these places to make sure I knew what I was recommending was actually as spectacular as "they seh". Your pictures are wonderful! It does look like they have really spruced the place up!!

I wonder, on your way dung a Treasure Beach, when you passed tru Southfield, did you see a place (or stop) at Treasure View Hotel? Again, for those who don't have the $$$ to buy tickets to go into Lover's Leap, this is a place just up the coastline from Lover's Leap and the same height up from the sea... wonderful food, basic guestrooms, pool tables, but very rural also.

Love the flower and fruit pictures too!! Makes me homesick!

We stayed in Southfield; a stone's throw from Gayle(?) and about a 10-15 minute walk to Lovers' Leap. On our way to Treasure Beach, I don't recall seeing the Treasure View Hotel as quite frankly, I was caught up with admiring some of the palatial houses that dotted the country side. There was one that was going for a cool JA$50 million, with a home-theatre that seated 18. I understand it could have been sold for as much as US$1.5 million on the market.

There is no entrace fee to Lovers' Leap. Someone mentioned the owners scrapped that idea, and kudos to them for doing so.

I have lots more pics from Treasure Beach, YS Falls, our Black River Safari, and Little Ochee. Will update later.
