It's very hard to describe the "roar" of the water in the next two pics at this spot in the Falls. It would have been easy to simply stand there and listen to it all day. Absolutely awesome is all I can say.

The sign below was no joke. The climb to the top took its toll on the back of our legs.

Just a wonderful report CEW... and just lovely pictures. Again, of one of the places in Jamaica that I too have always felt moved. It was a place where I would go to meditate in the roar of those cascading waters when I really missed my Mom and "back home". SOme times I sat in the shade at the bottome for hours, sometimes when the water was prestine and clear, I would plunge and clense my body, and really "feel" the wonder of the world around me.

God certainly made a wonderful place to share with many in the Y.S. falls! And I also felt His Spirit in the falls and surroundings there! [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif[/img]

mo_fire: To borrow churchgirl's expression, I'm feeling you. "YS" is one of those places that one just have to be there to experience. It's hard to put all the emotions it provokes into words. A visit to Jamaica without a trip to the "YS" is incomplete.

Kia: No, we didn't pack a lunch (I don't think we had anything to make lunches with). It would have been ideal though I'm not much of a picnic guy [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img] Definitely something to consider next time around. Thanks for the info re the gate and the cows. I hadn't thought of that. I also understand that they breed horses on the farm as well.

I also had to chuckle, at the ex-pat Jamaican man that minds the lizards, etc. Perhaps you shouldn't let so much time pass in between visits home. (((CEW))))

Same here GB. My last trip to Jamaica was June 1997 and although I come to this forum quite regularly just to view pictures and not feel so far away, for the first time I actually missed Jamaica and want to go home.
