Knowing I could not afford the cost of living in California on part time wages and pregnant I contacted my sister in Oregon. I asked my boss if he would lay me off so that I could get unemployment, and he agreed. I went to Oregon, rented a place for the 1st of August, and came home.

Then I flew to Jamaica…

My emotions were all over the place as you can imagine, and I had no idea what was in store for me when I got home. No matter the joy of being in JA, the tightness in my belly would not leave me. I got to the airport late, and TSmall picked me up. She was the only person I told of my pregnancy, as she knew Imanni’s father. It was a board bashment, but I did not tell another soul about the baby forming inside me.

I met some wonderful people that trip but my heart was not in the bashment.

On my second day I met him…

He was all muscle and smiles, and he made me feel good.

When he first saw me he was out on the bow of a boat. I hear this yelp, and look up just as he dives in the water and swims towards me. I feel kind of puzzled until he reaches my side, with the smile that won’t quit…

Oh, you’re one of them [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img] please leave me alone, I have enough problems [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70400-talktohand.gif[/img]

But he won’t leave me alone, and pretty soon I am laughing. I feel at ease with him.

Yes, I spent 10 days with a stranger, and it was some of the bitterest sweet days of my life.

He held my hand, he rubbed my swollen feet, he talked to my belly, and to my mind. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blushing2.gif[/img]

I could never forget him and the time we shared.
Although I never made it out to be more than what it was.
It meant the world to me at a time when I needed a little tenderness...



Now I am walking steps from where he jumped off that boat, and I wonder what he will think of me when/if I see him… Almost 5 years, thats a loooong time [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img]


The music is louder, and I realize I am here… Bourbon Beach…
The fence is up, and I peek through a hole in the tarps hung there…
It’s a small crowd, and I can’t make out anyone from here…

I hear Imanni coughing, and I open my eyes.

We get up and go out to the living room.
Swedish is gone, a few of her things folded neatly on the arm of the couch the only sign she was there...

I head for the coffee pot in the kitchen.
Man it's bright in here [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img]
I glance at my watch on the counter... 10:30am [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif[/img] I don't think Imanni has ever let me sleep past 9am in his life! [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif[/img]

I get the coffee brewing, and Imanni is hungry. I fix him up some eggs, potatoes, and juice:

I have not felt this good in a long time. Well rested, relaxed, happy...

I sit down with my coffee and watch the goings on...

People are working everywhere preparing for the day, preparing for the season. Raking, painting, sweeping, grooming the gardens... The places is alive with people, and I've been sleeping away... I smile, stretch, and take a sip of coffee.

Imanni has found a channel on the TV with all his favorite shows, and he keeps coming to the door to announce what’s on next [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img] He is still coughing, and each time I hear it I curse the plane ride... With his asthma even a little cold could be life threatening [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img]

But the boy is content in our condo by the sea:


I sit and drink, I listen, and watch...

ahhhh I love this place....


I don't feel fi move from this spot today, and I don't [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]

Swedish calls, she is over at Jagypsy's veranda drinking coffee, yeah man, I am cool here too. She says she may come over later, ok, I should be here all day. If I go anywhere I will go to the beach and back, but I will have my phone...

We hang up, and I get out the DVD player and turn on the music. I grab my journal, and more coffee. As I am pouring my coffee I see some workers in the back of my condo cleaning large appliances... [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70402-thinking.gif[/img] Just then one of them takes off his shirt [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/agood.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img] I lean closer to the window [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/agood.gif[/img]
