Oh thats a long anwer to a short one.

Briefly, my close relationship with my father as a young child hearing about his childhood and the curiosity it spraked within me. ALex Haley's roots. These led me to pursue.

To write the book was a vehicle for sharing all that I discovered and how I discovered with family and anyone interested. We all have our own stories - this was how I chose to tell mine. I also discovered things about our history - our heroes and sheros that I wanted to preserve (Read Richard Harts Slaves who abolished slavery- Blacks in Bondage to see what I mean. I realised that the period and the places he records where where my ancestors lived. I needed to wake people up about the Baptist War. Yes - we had some big time freedom fighters in JA.

Just a few reasons.
