((TG)) You've done an excellent thing with this project, seeing the merit in helping a family who really needs the help, digging for the info and staying on top of it. The manner in which quite a few of the regular members 'come together' at certain critical times (I believe) is a testament to what Marcia was striving for, togetherness, to make a difference in other's lives.

Actually I am not a charity person, so this was not my first inkling and I had big time help. The job is not finish yet let see if we can get the funds to the lady.

I hope this is one of the ways.

Just to clarify something I do support charities, however I support change which will actually make more of a long lasting impact, because of this my first choice are political charities, but when a need can be targeted and it benefits an individual I am all for it too.

(((TG))) Hopefully the wheels you and others have set in motion for this one family will give them a better opportunity to provide for themselves, and a real opportunity for a decent, happier future especially for Aston. With respect to the mother's illness, it's only a matter of time before it gets a real strong grip on her and prevents her totally from caring for and providing for her family. Sometimes you have to reach out to help one person at a time, one family at a time, but the important thing is to make a positive difference.

The youth group that is coming on-line for Discussion on Friday is doing just that. One week a year they are making a difference in a few peoples' lives. But it's not only the receivers of their commitment who benefits, but the individuals within the group can feel that pride that they have brought a ray of sunshine and hope to someone else's life.

I have contacted X-Man he has given his blessings for the project and has asked SisD who has accepted to help coordinate and disburse the Donations.

Tentatively the Donations will be via Paypal with a page set up where members can PayPal money directly similarly to this previous effort:
jampact_flood_fund example

This contingent upon the Institute of Jamaica willing to set up a PayPal Account to receive the Donations.

For members without or who do not wish to use PayPal I have suggested that SisD agree to accept the contribution in other forms; Wire Transfer or Check/Money Order, she will then deposit the funds in her account then PayPal the equivalent to the Institutes Account if set up or if not transfer it by whatever means agreed upon.

Just in case this is hard to keep up with here I with PM the decisions as soon as I hear from the Institute and SisD about the mechanics of the project.

I think it would be unwise and improper for any individual to use their personal account for collecting and transferring donations. I'm checking into a couple other resources to determine the safest and most satisfactory method to fulfill the requirements.

Well I was assuming that it would have been so a low response and an even lower handful of people who could not use PayPal that it would not justify setting up a special account.

The banks might have some programmes, so I guess you will have to explore the possibilities.
