Naw man it light in the sense mi never had fi a dig fi noh dictionary and the style of writing was easy to follow. Mi no think mi ago read it again unless fi respond to a question, but ansa mi dis, how the helper son who dem seh head is like Baby, scare off bad man wid rachet...come on now [img]/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

which page dat, caw mi juss done reread it an mi no memba da pawt...

we mite haffi have more dan one thread when time come - the political backdrop alone might merit a separate thread, plus the mother daughter relationships.

mi also realize seh some real characters have been given fictional names in the book... mi recognize the helper son weh dem kill.

the geography alone can probably tek a thread, mi was having some difficulty plotting the movements and locations of some of the places on the island...

i was thinking that when you and K20 first started going at it. then mi reread the book, and i think there may be something in trying to figure out if the work of fiction is also an attempt to record the era, given that a couple of the characters were identifiable even with fictional names - it seems to me, for example, that i know the Faye character. so i think that maybe that would be worth some exploration. but, i sense, as you probably do, that there's a risk that the discussion could be about history and not about the story.

That's a good idea. Make different threads based on the topics. Caw unu know seh dis ya book discussion thread can tek up 10 page.

-Characters and their real life counterparts
