Mr. Seaga saw the potential problem and tried to stop it.
It reflects better on Eddie Blinds than on the corrupt Comrade Governments that followed.

Prezi had a click and that is all,,he was a minor player in one corner of Tivoli till the Comrades killed his brothers one by one.

In any case the Government was the PNP Government for years but could not find one charge for this man now all of a sudden he is King Pin and on the USA want him?

You are talking nonsense i been here with you and others of your ilk for years I know the game, but they is real game on the streets.
Comrades mean nothing good in Jamaica.
They have reduced Jamaica to a point where our security forces is now the US State Department and our Minister of Finance is now the IMF.

But good luck spreading rumours in the end it is who is willing to die, not who can write a bag a nonsense and setup their fellow Jamaicans.

Actually I was never a big fan of Eddie Seaga but his Government has been the only Government since 1972 that has ever expanded production in Jamaica. Before that the most successful government in the history of Independent Jamaica was that of Mr. Hugh Lawson Shearer
Mr. Shear and Mr. Seaga are the most reviled politicians, ever in the history of Jamaica, it tells you what Jamaicans think about progress.....crabs inna barrel!

i don't really know much about this dudus fellow, but i do find it a tad ironic the government going to such lengths to protect his rights as a jamaican citizen while nuff jamaicans in jamaica sometime have a hard time getting them rights recognized by the jamaican state - in particular, not to be subject to being charged, tried and executed by police.

sorry, the government's/justice minister's position is sounding very dissonant to me right ya now.

Obviously the man is "connected",however,I see no reason why the government should send him to the US without first exhausting all avenues,and you know in jamaica "all avenues" means nothing is ruled out,so this thing could play out in any number of scenarios,....yu done know how resourceful yaadie is.

They lost any semblance of credibility and integrity when they invaded iraq and ended up torturing prisoners and murdering old men and women,and soldiers ended up raping young girls,..I hope bruce golding tell them to go clean up their own yard before preaching to others,..and to get stuffed.

The scene: a square in the heart of one of Kingston's most lawless enclaves. There, among the squalor and the rundown tenements, is a discreet office with dark smoked glass windows. Across the front of the door picked out in elegant lettering are the words Presidential Click. A brand new Mercedes saloon with blacked out windows is parked outside.

The office seems curiously out of place amid the poverty of Tivoli Gardens, one of Jamaica's notorious "garrison communities" where gunmen rule; more Wall Street than ghetto.

When local activists are asked about it they affect an air of injured innocence and say that Presidential Click is the name of the local youth club. <span style="font-weight: bold">Some 5,000 miles away, in Scotland Yard's SO11 intelligence section on organised crime and Yardie gangsters, there is a file on the Presidential Click.</span>

Detectives there are under no illusion that it is a mere youth club: they believe the Presidential Click to be a gang connected to one of Jamaica's most notorious Yardies, a suspected drug baron believed to be behind a sizeable proportion of the cocaine traffic now flooding into Britain.

Nearly everyone in Kingston has heard of Dudus. The President, they call him, and the Presidential Click is his posse. His real name is Christopher Lloyd Coke, and he is believed to be the "don", or underworld leader, of the Tivoli Gardens ghetto where 27 people died in a four day gun battle with police in July.

Dudus has never been convicted of an offence and few people have seen him. He is known to have an office in Tivoli Gardens, the powerbase of the popular veteran opposition leader Edward Seaga, yet is rumoured to live in a wealthy Kingston suburb.

Few people know the extent of his power and much of his notoriety is based on rumour, which has it that most of downtown Kingston pays him protection money. One Kingston observer said: "The young men follow Dudus, he makes money from drug dealing and protection rackets. Many of the businesses in downtown Kingston pay him protection and they are rarely robbed.

"If someone did they would have to answer to Dudus. He pays a lot of people, he spreads the money around the community and keeps everyone happy. He is a typical Jamaican enforcer.

"He is also a very unassuming man; if he walked into a restaurant no one would recognise him. Very few people see him but he is very powerful."

Now, it seems, his influence is extending even to the streets of London. One senior Yard detective connected to the Operation Trident squad which targets black-on-black crime said: <span style="font-size: 17pt">"We are getting intelligence in London to say, 'Dudus wants this done, Dudus has said do that'." There is little </span>doubt that the criminal connections between London and Kingston grow stronger every day, encouraged by the ease with which illegal passport holders can slip into the country because of the absence of visa restrictions on Jamaican visitors.

Scotland Yard sources believe murders now being committed in London are a direct result of feuds involving gangsters in the fiercely political enclaves of downtown Kingston or Spanish Town. It is a growing problem. Yardie turf wars have led to an escalation of gun violence and murders in London this year as Yardie gangs and home-grown British gangsters, modelling themselves on their Jamaican counterparts, battle to control the lucrative crack-cocaine trade.

Firearms-related homicides in the capital are especially high. There were 25 in 1999-2000 but this figure has been equalled in the first eight months of this year. In Lambeth alone, there were 408 firearms incidents in the past year, including 105 where shots where fired.

The semi-automatic pistol is the weapon of choice but there is a worrying new trend of the more frequent use of compact semi-automatic weapons such as the Uzi - "spray and pray" - and Mac 10.

Even AK47 and AR15 automatic assault rifles have found their way into criminal hands. Hardened Jamaican criminals regularly fly in from Kingston - bringing with them their culture of violence. Bizarre as it may seem to outsiders, these killers can be role models for alienated youths living in Brixton or Harlesden who are tempted by the rewards of crime.

The links between Kingston and the UK are disturbing - and growing daily. These are just a few:

One notorious Jamaican Yardie called Donovan Bennett, alias Bulbie, the leader of a Spanish Town posse nicknamed the Clans Massive, is suspected of between 20 and 25 murders; he is believed to have fled to Britain.

Two other wanted killers were recently stopped trying to enter Britain, one at Gatwick and another at Heathrow after arriving on a flight from Miami.

Detectives also say that Jamaican criminals wanted in London are somehow making the trip the other way to Kingston. One police source in Jamaica said: "They come over here to 'chill out' when the heat is on in London. They arrive with lots of money and start flashing it around on expensive rental cars. They are an increasing problem."

Indeed, one posse or crew, nicknamed the British Link, are a major Jamaican drug gang based in London who are said to be moving their operations to Kingston because of the level of police activity in Britain.

One part of Brixton is now known in Jamaica as "Little Tivoli" - a reference to the Tivoli Gardens enclave in West Kingston fanatically loyal to Seaga's Jamaican Labour Party. Equally, there are parts of Harlesden rumoured to be named after areas loyal to the ruling People's National Party.

The criminal justice system here is being hampered by the violence. Just over a week ago a witness in a forthcoming trial in Britain was shot at and wounded by gunmen in a car on a busy Kingston street as the witness was being driven to the airport.

To add to the picture of lawlessness, one Yardie suspected of murder in London was ambushed on a visit to Kingston and pursued down the street by gunmen firing from the back of a pick-up.

How do the drug barons operate? Their wealth is based primarily on the "mules", or cocaine couriers, who use the daily British Airways and Air Jamaica flights to Gatwick and Heathrow to smuggle drugs into Britain. Hard pressed Customs officers can pick up one or two mules - or even 11 on one recent BA flight - but dozens more are slipping through.

Superintendent Devon Watkiss of Jamaica Constabulary's organised crime section, who sports an Operation Trident lapel badge, said: "Our intelligence suggests there are a handful of players who are heading the trafficking and that they are making big bucks. Everyone is getting into the drugs trade because it is so lucrative." The mark-up on a kilo of cocaine is estimated to be £80,000 to £100,000.

One of the problems faced by police is dealing with so-called "deportees" - Jamaicans who have been convicted of offences in Britain and elsewhere and sent home, often with nothing to their name and few friends to support them.

Mr Watkiss said: "These are guys who would be used to driving a Mercedes or a BMW in London who would have three or four girls to look after them and who would travel with guys all around him. Suddenly, he is returned to the island with absolutely nothing, he is compelled to turn to the under-world for assistance."

The profits from the drugs trade are easy to spot on the noisy streets of downtown Kingston. Among the battered cars and taxis which speed around the potholed streets are gleaming new sports utility vehicles with blacked out windows and the latest Mercedes Benz saloons. The favourite vehicle is currently the Ford F150, a massive luxury American pick-up, while the local Mercedes dealership is said to be one of the city's most successful businesses.

For impoverished youngsters brought up in the slums, the attractions of such ostentatious wealth are obvious. Franklin Stephenson, 45, who was born and brought up in the ghetto, said: "There are boys in the ghetto who have nothing, no family and no chance of a job.

"The only people they know and trust are other kids. They start handling guns at the age of 10 and by 13 maybe they have been picked out by a gang leader and given a gun and told to kill someone - and they do it. It is the way to earn your stripe, then you get a reputation as a 'shotta', a gunman."

He goes on: "From then on it is a life of crime. If the shottas are good, the drug guys will sponsor them up. They are armed to the teeth and have everything new, M16s, AK47s and Uzis and Glocks, all the latest stuff."

The dons win favour and support among the communities by handing out money and gifts. Parents are given support for children's uniforms and school books; it is said that the children of the ghettos are among the best dressed in Kingston.

Some of the ghettos are surprisingly well organised. Tivoli Gardens, for instance, operates its own welfare system for victims, has well-equipped schools and trains award-winning basketball teams.

There are numerous dons - "they come and go like butter in the sun" said one policeman - but Dudus and a man called Zekes, who controls the rival Matthews Lane community, are said to "keep the peace" between two camps.

Dudus is the son of the notorious Jim Brown or Lestor Lloyd Coke, the "don dadda" of Tivoli who died in a fire in mysterious circumstances in a police cell in 1992 while awaiting extradition to the US on charges of drug trafficking and murder. His first son, known as Jah T, took over until he was shot in a gang dispute. Power passed to Dudus. The distance between Dudus's territory and the rival Rema ghetto is only 100 yards. Crossing that line means almost certain death, however.

A rough dirt road and a patch of scrub mark the dividing line and on one side stands Board Villa, an area of wooden shacks recently raided by an armed Rema gang with handguns and assault rifles. Many families have fled their homes leaving the place eerily deserted.

Women point out the bullet holes in their small wooden shacks and the homes burned by the gang. Wayne Bartley, the Tivoli youth worker, laughs at the idea of crossing the dividing line. "I would come out in a box," he said.

Old news!
It was Scotland Yard that first started the investigation that is the reason why a certain cop was sent to Jamaica.
Having your name on file don't mean a damn thing.
Bin Laden's name was on file for years and I am pretty sure they are still looking for him, even after destroying, Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen and Somalia.
I bet he is just killing himself now that he has failed at that too.
