TG all the politicians of a certian bent played on the intelligence or lack thereof , of their constituents...they catered their rhetoric according to who they were addressing at the time....everybody knows this is /was part of the campaigning strategy

most of it was done because said politicians , on both sides, thought, mistakenly we now realise, that they could control their enforcers shall we say

it is nice to have discussions along the line that we use to have bak a yaad and i can appreciate that we will all never agree on how we remember, wat we remember etc etc...and i know that it is easy to give een to the ire that comes over one wen u can recognise that someone is baiting, being deliberatelu obtuse etc etc , but at some point, we have to concede that regardless, no minds will be changed and try to discuss constuctively juss to have a discussion

being so far from yaadies and wanting to chat about yaad wid yaadies, i realise this ...

I don't know if Tuff is the best JLP can do to represent and/or forward their cause but he's failing miserably.

First he failed at convincing us that he's a supporter of PNP who is playing Devil's Advocate.

Second I must correct him right now with his B.S. about PNP capturing people's shyt.

From 1972-1978/9 jamaica was a relatively safe place, and violence was not so widespread in Jamaican politics.

Under the desperate leadership of Eddie blinds to gain control of Jamaica's GOV and ultimately its treasury blinds ordered his constituency flooded with guns.

The PNP occupants of these neighborhoods (PNP and JLP used to live side by side then) were forced out using threat and extreme violence, and their properties were confiscated by the JLP people within those constituency. Don't tell me I lie either-I am a victim of what I just explained.

My father owned several houses in the downtown neighborhood and because he was a staunch PNP they tried to kill us, kids and all. You hear me TUF, your JLP comrades are cold blooded killers and Eddie Blinds the leader of them all.

By the way, they still live in the cribs, eventhough some of the walls are falling down (JLP Criminals) after years of neglect. They lived in the cribs for free (over 20 years), and not once did they consider maintaining the property-that is the capture man attitude of JLP.

u know RichD wat bothers me most of all about all these discussions, is how entrenched the old cliches, etc r how many generations down the road

u know my fada was sooooo p/o by the statement of a man who eventually became a powerhouse for the country, a remark that was so denigrating towards the working man of Ja, that he switched party because of it....and this was by a man who was of the party that is sooooooooooo thought of being of the people and for the people and this was by a man who held the same said reputation....and this was in the 50s according to my fada...and he had no reason to lie to his child....sometimes people have to pay attention to people's actions and let the rhetoric slide and this is especially tru of yaad politrix...is a reason why people coin dat play on the word politics...

that's one of the problems with Jamaican politics fi real. someone's father's grandfather used to be PNP so now even the fowl inna dem yaad a pnp.

funny, but true, if pnp ran the country well(to actual prosperity instead of destruction and crime) I would have a hard time choosing who to support...

I am sure i did not say any such thing about my father being a PNP Angel. My father is not even a Christian. He's a supporter of PNP, and he's a very hard working man.

He invest his money in several properties and he lived good with the people in the neighborhood.

In 1979/80 the JLP supporters tried to kill me and my family, and we had to escape the neighborhood with our lives (I was only a child, and I have younger family members). At that time I wished my father was not such a moral decent guy, and I wished he would have gotten a gun and let a few of them have it but I guess his main concern was our safety.

No, not an Angel but a great pops.

Laborwrong and Eddie Blinds du anything fi win election, and ongle because them so hungry for robbing the Gov.

The PM is so right, it will be a long time before Golding and JLP gets his/their chance at GOV.

Political violence became widespread with JLP doing whatever it takes to win.
