My Nerds on Site isnt available at the moment, so can somebody please walk me thru uninstalling an Operating System before I draw blood here?

I want to take Vista off and re-install XP.




I havent done this on my own in years, so I just want to be sure I am doing things properly so I dont lose files or do any real damage.

My files are backed up off site already.

I have re-formated hard drives and re-installed windows plenty of times before vista...


I just put in the Windows disc and re-boot...


The computer will recognize the boot-up disc and ask if you want to re-format the hard drive and re-install windows..


Then just follow the prompts


It takes a while, so I would do this after you get uswe's dinner on the table

Your easiest option is to do a clean install of Windows XP, assuming, you
have a full retail copy of XP rather than an upgrade. If you visit this link
on my website it will guide you through the installation of XP

Just make sure you have any drivers that may be need by XP for any
peripherals you have, i.e., printer, modem, SATA drives etc. Also, if you
have used Vista and created any documents etc remember to back these up just
in case you need them in XP.

Also, as Malke has already pointed out, if the machine is still under
warranty, check witht he manufacturer to see if changing the operating
system will invalidate the warranty.

I am good with all of that because it is a full version and I have all my drivers listed in order already.
