Hi J kid,
Yep- you can watch a full length movie on one charge. In fact, I watched March of the Penguins (not a long movie tho) and still had about 2/3 of the battery left.

So far, for me - I plug it in every other night, and haven't even come close to depleting my battery...

AT&T just bought my cell phone company and little mailings have hinted at big changes. I am watching. I want one. I bet the price will come down even more after xmas.

Yeah, you might want to wait because there are going to be different versions of the IPhone coming out soon and they will be 8-16GB's. The prices will be the same lowered prices as well but of course they aren't written in stone.

The sad thing about the phone is what I heard at work today. People are spending their bill money, car payments, house notes, etc on the phone. Seriously! When activating the phone, sometimes problems occur and they have to call the customers to let them know and they are finding customers whose house phones have been "disconnected" for non-payment! One man had to pay a $500 deposit for the phone and he bought the $500 IPhone. He broke it in 2 days and went back and bought another one. $1500! One Lady said if that was her husband she would divorce him.

For the people who can afford to buy one without selling the house, congratulations! If you can afford the phone, please invest in the case. Apple has NO warranty for that phone whatsoever. Forget about Insurance unless you link it with your homeowners/renters insurance. But like my Samsung Blackjack, I bought it July 30th and they opened up Insurance for it 2 weeks later, [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/dance01.gif[/img], they will eventually offer it somewhere down the road. In the meantime, if you lose it or break it on day 1, it's your broken/lost phone and your 2 year contract. Be careful.

Seriously though, I don't have any apple shares. I can't stand steve jobs. I used to know his mother, before she died. I worked with her - 5 days a week, 8 hours per day of per unfriendliness. What a piece of work. Because of that awful, mean hearted person - I didn't want to contribute to his co at all.
I also have a friend that used to work for him directly. What a jerk. Just like his mom (he was adopeted though).

But anyway - when the phone first came out - I felt just like some of the others on here - I had NO intention of getting one.
But I bought one for hubby's 50th birthday (he's a techy - a director at a high tech co) so he REALLY wanted one (we are also in the middle of silicon valley). Everytime he showed me something new about his phone - i'd be saying, "awww crap!" He bought me one cuz he said the only way he could enjoy his is if I had one too [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70377-loveeyes.gif[/img]

Well, jaded - they're not really in one basket. You have them on your pc too - for the sync.

If you're smart - you'll also back-up your picture files on cds (or dvds)...

It actually helps because it syncs all your appointments, contacts, etc. Now - you have everything in two places.

The number of websites “claiming” to offer iPhone insurance is growing; as is the shadiness of the brand new sites. Let me just say this, I have not come across a legit, long standing company who has come forth to say that they will provide insurance on the iPhone. Trust me, stay away from these fly by night sites folks. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s get back to outlining a few safe and trust-able solutions to protecting your iPhone".....................

I've had a cell phone since about 1995. I've never (ever) dropped one.
And even if I did - it's not the end of the freakin world. It's a PHONE!
I can't believe how emotional people get about a freakin phone.
I was just excited about it. I thought others might be interested in them too. that's why I started the thread.
It IS the technology forum, after all. I didn't think there'd be so many haters.

How rude to call someone "choopid" for buying an iphone.
