My two faves are Moondance and Rockhouse.
Love love love moondance though.

Last week while in Negril we did a catamaran tour along the west coast. There is no better way to see the cliffs, and it just reinforces the fact that (like you said Nylah) the cliffs really is above it all. It is just a different atmosphere.

While jackie's may be a good place for massage, if you dont plan on staying on property for the entire 3 days then it may be too far for you. First time we went out there, we were driving and find wiself just a galang and a galang and cyaan reach. But the place was beautiful.

If you just want to read, get a couple drinks, eat, and have some peace, and know where to go to get the "vibe" then the cliffs is the way to go. Gosh, that is my kinda vacay ....

what a bad bad influence you are nylah! you've got me over on tb.net perusing some of the newer places that have opened.

anyone ever heard/stayed at this place? it looks loverly.

Coless, thanks for the input. I know now that I wont be staying at Jackie's. I may go there for a spa treatment but where I will stay will be one of the places listed in this thread.

Just from all the comments here, I think the cliffs is more my groove....not that this tidbit of realization is making my decision making process any easier

Moondance looks gorgeous for an AI...but Villa Sur Mer is coming up fast on my list too

i'm not a hardcore beach person either but i do enjoy seeing all the sights and being able to easily walk around and get something to eat or have something to eat walk by me - ice cream, patties, fruit lady

believe me you can sit in your chair on the beach and not move all day and be very well fed

and entertained!

sometimes it's <span style="text-decoration: underline">beyond</span> peaceful on the cliffs

only thing for me the villa is too big if I am travelling solo.

I have numbknucket friends threatening to be with me in portland but it looks like unless I get an unexpected visitor I will be solo in TB as well.

I really am okay with that Seveen. I *<span style="font-style: italic">may</span>* have company so having that privacy will be really nice.

And if I am alone, TSmall is near both and I am good with venturing out with her if I need to. Being by myself with a book for a few days really isnt a stretch for me.

Seriously though, it looks like my next JA trip will definitely be to Negril. I've only ever done day trips to the beach there. Seems I've been missing out on plenty. Loving the hotels! I'm taking notes.
