a friend's dad died (91) and is being buried in Gurnee, IL - north of Chicago

with the weather being so horrible - are they able to dig graves?

when my dad died - there was 36 inches of snow - i wasn't able to fly in when i expected - the funeral director told me &quot;don't worry, he'll be here when you get here&quot; and they weren't able to dig graves anyway

kinda morbid topic - but i'm just wondering

Marnin Seveen! I miss that tractor, it was big fun. Sorry bout your friends dad. If the ground wasn't frozen they should be able to bury him, hopefully...otherwise they store people until spring. yep.

I make a mean oxtail complete wid the likkle flat white beans and dumperling

Seveen when my granmere died few years ago my Mom rented some type of excavating equipment and had them dig the grave as the ground was frozen solid and Mom did not want to store here,says my granmere would not like that.

i love mexican but unfortunately i have a mexican friend that has spoiled me by turning me on to the real thing

and i make oxtails but somethings missing - i think sunshine, sand and sea

the best eating here is east indian food - loads of good restaurants - and i love their curried goat

my israelite friend (vegetarian) and i went to a northern indian restaurant that just opened

we couldn't understand the waiter, and the waiter couldn't understand us

so we ordered &quot;chicken&quot; and &quot;vegetables&quot;

when the food came out - we had to ask him what was what

we were ready to eat the dessert as soup - LOL

it was excellent tho'

I guess I'll stick to my Mexcian! I eat it more than anything else. I suppose I could go as far as to say I don't like bland american style dishes at all, like roast beef dinner, turkey, chicken, etc...my food has got to be all the way jazzed up spicy in some fashion. I do like some Chinese and have had a few Chinese food holiday dinners.

When you had to grow up sitting at a table with freekin lutetfisk dinner that stunk so bad it made ya wanna puke, you'd want mexican too, lol.

Nan you really would love the food down there south of the border imo they are the chefs of the world just gotta remeber to squeeze the lime on your food thats served with everything. It keeps you healthy while there.

Oh goodness!!!! Talkin' bout all that snow makes me confirm that I did the right thing by wintering here in Jamaica. I used to hate the cold, but was lucky that I had an office in home. Tax preparation waits for no man nor for IRS, except for extensions.

Well we are still having trouble with the solar hot water and the water pump, but should all be straightened out in the next couple of days. Hope so, because my grandson and his girfriend are coming tomorrow.

Right now we are having an afternoon downpour but looks like it may clear up soon. I'm glad to see it because we need the wet to make our garden nice.

Roots love the pics. Keep them coming. You too Turtledude. I love the Taos area.

Wow! Marnin Ya'll. It's cold cold down south this morning and the breeze is strong. I've got 2 holiday events today and it's supposed to rain likkle mor with a wintery mix they say. So much for a good hair day. lol.

I cooked Paula Dean's lemom blossoms last night for my galfriends Pawty....dem turn out nice Laurel.
