I don't know what your situation is ... do you have a Yardie that will be with you at all? or are you flying totally solo?

I never feel bothered myself - of course when Seveen is there, we usually hang out together at BarBBarn ... that staff knows us both from all the years visiting.

but - even when Seveen is not there, Bim does not spend time at the beach so I am always alone for my beach time ... no one ever bothers me - I make connection(tip ) with the Security Guard, if they don't know me and Bim, I let him know from the start I don't want any foolishness messing around me ~ if my "not interested /move along" does not work, just one finger raised for Security and they handle it.

now - taking Kim along with me these days - that is another story!! I have had to let them know in the first sentence she is MY little girl & not interested!! and her father is likely up in the tree watching with his machete!! they get the point and they move along!!

if I leave my parking spot at BarBBarn - I will usually tell the bar staff where I am going - cuz Bim will on occassion drop by to check on me - and he can always find me, but - if you are all alone - still nice to just check with someone from the staff you connect with.

I think Negril would be easy enough to do alone ... but - maybe that is cuz I am so familiar with it ???

right ... like SassaFrass just said ... you can stay solo if you wish to ... or it is easy enough to link up with other Tourists if you wish to as well ...

I would not avoid going where ever you wish to go just cuz of being solo!!

who knows?? I think I would be fine just hanging about around Negril - can't beat the beach there.

but - what about the North Coast - Jamaica Jewel's place ... there is that awesome unspoiled beach near her - I can't wait to visit that area - my first ever trip to JaJa was Runaway Bay ... it will be good to go back to that area ~

Ja Jewel's place like very nice.

I have not been North since i stayed with Libby &amp; Chef.

I will go back at that way again some time.

Right now it's looking like I will either stay in TB or go a little ways out like Belmont.

I guess I'll see how it feel and how my finances are.

sometimes you just can't beat 'home' ... as much as I hope to one day tour the Island and stay in all the wonderful places others show and tell about, I reach JaJa and am ever so content to just be home.

I have a couple nights already paid for at JaJewel - and have not made it there yet ~ I should look at the calendar and have her pencil me in and JUST DO IT!!

My land is in Great Bay TB. Nothing built yet though.

We'll see how I feel and my pockets are. I may hit negril for a day. I may hit Belmont for a day or more.

I would definitely have her pencil you in. The place looks lovely.

me too ...

in conversation over the past year, I have said 'enough' with just concentrating on the building and whatnot ... I REALLY want to get around to check other places I have been dreaming about for too long now ... we chat about some roaming plans, then a 'next project' comes up ~

I got close on my last reach ... but then I had to change that plan due to my other responsibilities ... so it goes ~

maybe we can pull off something during my Holdiay visit this year ????

Personally I'd consider Strawberry Fields (the area, not the resort). Bus to Port Maria or Annotto Bay then route taxi there, once there $10 a night at my friend Sata's place or around $35 for cushier accommodations at River Lodge or similar. Nice beach, community, hiking, waterfalls, good cheap food options.

But if TB is too quiet for you, that area would kill you

Liz, what is the beach like at Strawberry Fields...??

I remember camping there as kids and there was a lot of sea urchins we had to be looking out for?
is that still the case there?

TB is not too quiet for me.I just have an itchy foot.
