<span style="font-size: 11pt">We stop by town and Cher and Barry go to the supermarket for more ingredients for her yummy rum cream.

Bossa and I talked till the wee hours of the morning. The hard life that some Jamaican people live is not easy for me to grasp, and I am endeared to him and the things he has been through.

He works hard driving and his hands are calloused from steering. He has been through 3 cars in 5 years and probably driven every person in the parrish of Trelawny... even up at Nine Mile people knew his name...

While we are talking, he says one of the sweetest things a man has ever said to me...

&quot;You know how people's face mek a way when dem cry?&quot;

&quot;You look so beautiful when you cry&quot;



I explain to him that there is someone in Negril waiting to see me, and that being more than friends would make things complicated.

He is such a gentleman, and I would trust him with my life...

He goes home, and I fall right to sleep

Tomorrow I have to go to Negril

I never thought the words &quot;have to go&quot; and &quot;Negril&quot; would come out of my mouth together, but they did many times in the morning hours of the 30th.

My stay at Jamaica Jewel was a touching one. It was a real &quot;yard&quot; style vacation. The genuine people, the quiet nights, the homemade rum cream and the friends I made there will always be special to me.

The people upstairs never once came down to socialize, and I felt a little sorry for them. They missed out on a little piece of happiness. It was a treat to have been welcomed into the home of Cher and Barry. Alex, Bossa, the dogs... it is all a part of me now. I look forward to coming back again and again.


It is a wonderful place to get away from hustle and bustle. To truly relax and enjoy Jamaica in the company of good people.


Did I mention the rum cream?

I don't know if it is the hippie hair, the reports from Nine Mile, the sense of humor, the love for his wife, or all of it combined, but I love Dave, always have...

We had made plans to share a ride from MoBay to Negril and before I left Cali that was one of my catch phrases...

I am calling his cell phone before he leaves the airport

He had planned to visit with friends first, and so I knew it would be afternoon before he was ready.

Well the people upstairs wanted more nightlife and had decided to move their vacation to MoBay. Bossa is going to drive all of us, and timing to meet Dave is not really working out. I decide to have Bossa drive me all the way to Negril and of course he is happy to oblige. I call Dave with the change in plans, no problem, see you on the other side... Barry, being from Westmoreland and not having been back in a while is along for the ride and seems happy about it. Cher stays home and the rest of us pile in the car with the people from upstairs and are off to MoBay.

We listened to my new AnthonyB CD which was a hit with Bossa and Barry and not much conversation was had.

When we droped them off at their hotel it was time to party

Like a drive with old friends to a familiar place, it was almost like getting to Jamaica all over again...



We met up with O'Neil from rentacellnegril and got my cell phone and then they took me to the Condo's...

ahhhhh... Negril...






Even Bossa and Barry are smiling to be there

They get me all settled in my room and have a beer on my veranda.
Cher sent me with a batch of rum cream and I head to the bar for some ice
