P, u can stay at Treasure Beach and there u get transport (boat) to Pelican Bar, its close by Black River,

they have a famous Jakes hotel in TB, but they have a few hotels along the way, one I stayed in was Golden Seas, they dont have food though, but food is always close by!!

you can definitely rack up a bill at sunrise, but the pizza and - get this- real calzones- will not break your bank.

plus they have the best jbm cappucinos in negril.

pizza is better than angelas. but people's taste in pizza depends a lot. some people love that goopy nonsense at Tamboo, no offense to anyone lol.

also they actually have a decent steak, and the best real mojitos- not made with 'mojito' rum or any other BS.

I eat there several times a week and I am not spending anywhere near any kind of money that would make the place prohibitive.

and they have real wood furniture. that means alot to me after a while. how many times can you eat on plastic.

Ok my thing is Chicken Parmesan over pasta.....first they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about, then brought out some absolute MESS, NO comparison to Angelas. They don't get my vote...sorry I'm not interested in pizza, calzones, and mojitos.

that's because what most people think of Italian food...is not really lol....they really did not know what you were talking about.

their menu reflects a more mainland northern italian- since the owner is from Milan- than Southern Italian or American Italian, despite the pizza and calzones.

no spaghetti and meatballs for example.

anyway, next time we are down let me invite you for dinner. there are quite a few exemplary dishes which might make your chicken parm a distant memory.

another spot which is not to be missed, Mariposa. &quot;Butterfly.&quot;

before his murder Gino had what to me was the best trained waitstaff in Negril, and fantastic food. You would often see lots of the other restaurant owners in his spot, especially on special occasions.

the man actually had real muzzarella on his menu.

did I mention their crepes...

banana chocolate crepes with espresso ice cream...

i was in italy one summer studying painting. we went out to eat, this was our first week. it was venice. as we looked over the menu, i saw bracciola...and thought my god I will shortly be in heaven!

now every sunday my whole fam would gather for nonna's dinner- usually a big pot of sauce which she started cooking at 6am. in the sauce were such treasures as hard boiled eggs, meatballs, sausage, pork chops, and bracciola...which are thin cut slices of meat rolled with salami, cheese, breadcrumbs and hard boiled egg.

i ordered the dinner and about 20 minutes later out comes my plate with a pork chop on it. the waiter and i soon began a heated exchange, when he slurred the word 'americano' into americaaaaaaane- basically dog, I stood up.

in any case, my venetian friend explained that yes indeed, I had ordered a bracciola and that is in fact what I got. suddenly, I remembered practically every sicilian curse I ever heard, and for some reason they all were vocalized for about 15 minutes.

the 'bracciola' on my plate, it was tasty, but it was not the bracciola from my nonna's pot lol.

same way too when I ordered cotoletto di pollo, chicken cutlets...almost an entirely different animal...

i will honestly admit to wondering quite a bit how some place like pizza hut or dominos can even exist, and ny has them too! one of my big questions for the big guy. when subway and quizno's came in, I just couldn't believe it. You know one of them replaced the Great American Deli. A travesty if I ever saw one.
