BTW, I love the grande. The rooms are large, but dated. But the food is good for an AI. They always have Jamaican food on the menu, and its always tasty.

Pepper I ate my weight in food this trip. The room was clean which is one of my most important factors (I have OCD issues), so I was able to live with it. I never got a chane to use the waterslide though

Sammy, did you mention food (I love you like cooked food ) ???? 11 days, at least 2 meals a day, 2 people travelling....needless to say, this report is full of food.

It always takes a while if not days to get our bearings together after the red eye flight and trying to hit the ground running. The ground was wet so all the more reason to go slowly into this trip, we have enough time to see and do nothing at all.



I had to put a mirror under her nose somedays just to make sure she was still with me (she got her sleep on)....

First things first, we gallivant down to the digicel store to buy me a new phone credits and the international plan. The rain let up just enough for us to make the round trip and as we ascended the curving driveway the skies opened up and a downpour drenched us.

While we were out we made the first of several trips to the beauty supply. Kat replaced her rubbing alcohol and Neutrogena face wash. I picked up a few hair care items as well. And pantyhose. I was so happy . I found pantyhose that would fit and colors that complimented my skin tone. I felt like I had robbed the joint because they were only $80 JMD Never knew why I didn’t think of buying pantyhose in Jamaica before. All the women seem to wear them at work, so it makes sense that they wouldn’t be as expensive as some lower quality brands at home.

We missed the buffet for lunch so after our walk we dined in a small cafe at the hotel.

Friday morning, we didn’t get up in time for breakfast. We ate lunch in one of the small cafes yesterday and dinner at the buffet. So lunch was buffet today, I had been enjoying the salads, but I find that I have been eating the same salads each time I eat. First day the salads were so good by day 2 I was getting bored with some of the dishes. I must walk. I can’t take it.

Kat wanted to sleep so I left her in the room while I walked to explore.

I remember BiBiBips being pass the Hibiscus lodge, I just didn’t remember how far, but that would be my goal today and it would allow me to get a good walk in.

There were a lot of people out and it was midafternoon. I got a bit discombobulated when I approached the traffic light and couldn’t figure if I should keep walking straight or if I should veer to the right. I continue walking straight and I seemed to be walking for a while without seeing any familiar sights. Well they looked familiar I just couldn’t figure out if it as familiar to where I was trying to go. The dark clouds were looming and I felt like I was aimlessly walking into the land of nowhere. My calves began to firm up and just as I started to doubt that I knew where I was going

I could see the church that let me know that my landmark, the Hibiscus lodge was close by. I started to sprint, it was beginning to drizzle and I was in no way turning around until the rain stopped. Before I knew it I as at BiBibips and found a perfect seat at the bar. I could people coming, going and I could see the water and the Kool running boats below.

The girls were at the bar were very nice and found enjoyment in mixing up my drink choice. I thought about having a rum based drink until I noticed a sexy bottle of one of my choice drinks standing there by itself at the top of the liquor shelf I asked the bartender if she had the ingredients to make a mixed drink (that my bartender at home calls a lay me down). When I told her the ingredients her eyes opened kinda wide, yeah, it’s a strong one. After mixing the Remy, Hipnotiq and Pineapple juice, she asked “what do you call that” I told her that my bartender at home calls it a lay me down. She said “In Jamaica it’s a throw me down” Alrighty then, a throw me down it is.

I had spent quite some time at BiBiBips and I figured Kat would prolly be awake from her nap by now. I finished my last drink and headed back down to the Grande before nightfall caught me. I was encouraged to come back for the live music that would be starting in a couple of hours, I had intentions to do so....but that never happened.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Saturday, Tour Day</span>

We had a hard time trying to decide on the one tour that we would take while we were in Ochie and the weather made it even more difficult. We were going to do bamboo rafting or river tubing, but the rains prevented that from happening. We decided to do the Outameni experience.


On the way to Outameni, our driver stopped so that we could take pictures. Before I jumped out with my camera we had a discussion about the beauty of nature and that after so many trips, I try to keep my eyes dry when I come upon a blowing blade of grass (I seem to cry at the overwhelm of natures beauty).

When we got out of the car the wind was blowing strong. I was facing away from the view looking at everything else. I turned around to look at the view and Kat runs over to look at my face. Are you crying, she asks. &quot;No, the wind is blowing my eyes too hard and they are watering.&quot; I'm such a whimp, and she knew it





When I saw this, the blowing winds caused my eyez to water (I wasnt cryin )
