Re: Seeing the Forest Thru the Trees
<span style="font-weight: bold"> Winnifred Beach</span>
The poor girls that went kayaking to Monkey Island (technically Pillows Island) were caught in the downpour and looked like drowned rats by time we made it back to Kanopi House.
Since the ground was soaked thoroughly, we had to put off the trip to Reach Falls.
The area they take guests is off the beaten path and the guides were worried that it would be too muddy for us to make it safely to the private spot.
<span style="font-weight: bold">So plan B kicked in</span>.
The soaked girls who had breakfast earlier than all of us were hungry by this time. Michael then suggested that we all go to Winnifred Beach so the girls can eat and the rest of us can drink and check out the beach.
Since we were all going Michael didn’t have enough room in his car so my services were put to use.
As long as it wasn’t a drive into the town I was fine to take ppl with me.
We get to the beach and park at Cythnia’s.

Here is the motley crew that I hung out with

The Frnech girls order their food. They all had jerk chicken with festival and vegetables and all said the food was fantastic.
I settle in with a <span style="font-weight: bold">Mud Slide</span>. After while I get restless and decide to explore the beach.
I then realized I had been in JA for 4 days and had yet to touch the sea!! Well, off came the shoes and I waded into the sea..

Winnifred is a nice little local beach although it does need a bit of a clean up.
Lots of kids enjoying themselves before school starts in a week. There are a few vendors selling their wares and all of them are respectful and courteous if you are not interested. No pressure or rudeness at all. Nice easy vibe overall.
I did buy some stuff from a couple of vendors that Michael and Cynthnia knew. I bought 2 calabash shells since I have wanted one of them for a long time and a small cheap necklace. I sat and chatted with the two vendors for a few minutes afterwards and they were really nice guys. I don’t recall their names but they are always right next to Cynthia’s.
