The plan was to get up really early and make my way down to the Blue Lagoon before everyone else started to stir.
However, the sleep was too nice for me to give up in the morning.
Finally I was out of bed and showered by 9:00am. I figured most of the guests don’t make it to the common area until 10am so maybe I had some alone time. Turns out everyone else’s plan as to start the day early as well.
The german couple wants to raft the Rio Grande for their last day in Portie. The staff arranged that I take the trip with them.
The American girls decide to try the kayaking once again hoping that the rain would hold off
Our driver, Brassiere, comes to take us.
Yup, that is his name He turned out to be a blessing for me. He offered to drive me around in my own car for the remainder of my time in Portie
This is my rafter named Steve. He has been doing this for 3 years now an is Carla's favorite.
The guy selling red stripe and snacks on the river.
I had to change up the sound cause my blood sugar was well low by time I got to the Lagoon and I made some really stupid comments that I was NOT gonna let you vultures hear
We get to the half way point and stop for our pre-arranged lunch (done thru Kanopi House but you can do the same for yourself as well)
I wish I wrote down this woman's name cause I dont remember anymore However, she is featured in the Lonely Planet's Jamaica Guide. She has been selling food at the same spot for decades.
A little souvenir stand
Dinner is served
Food was good. Chicken was a *little* overdone but that was due to us taking longer than expected in getting there.
The german couple need to make it back to Kingston to catch their flight for tomorrow. So Brassiere drops them off at the bus station and arranges a driver and a price since they didn’t seem to be too sure what they should be doing. He took care of them.
Shots along the road to <span style="font-weight: bold">Annotto Bay</span>
