He is still a very excellent driver and since he grew up in the area he is well knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat

The villas located along the Lagoon that you could see from Kanopi House. I want to check these out the next time I am there even if it is only for a few days. Waking up and jumping into the Lagoon would be heaven on earth





I think this is the house the guide said is where Tom Cruise's Cocktail was filmed. Might be wrong though so someone can correct me if I am .

My driver was really quiet but I just put that aside. C was busy cutting hair when I arrived so I waited outside for him. Since it was taking him some time C sent his friend G to keep me company while I was waiting.
So poor G got stuck entertaining me for a while C was eventally done and we all chatted for sometime and then made plans to hook up later in the day . He had to return so we exchanged numbers and said we’d catch up later.

I was feeling super tired once again from the strong sun so I returned to the guesthouse for a nap and a shower.
I slept some of the afternoon away and then got ready to go out.
I hadn’t heard from C yet so I swung by the shop again to check on him. Turns out that he lost my number and wanted to call and see how I was doing.

In the meanwhile my lobster dinner at <span style="font-weight: bold">Dickie's Best Kept Secret </span>was waiting for me

I asked B to drop me off at the restuarant which turned out to be awkward. The expectation that I would invite him along was evindent but my spirit said not to do it so I dint give in and change my mind. I just didnt want that kind of company and I had oo be realistic how the invite would have benn taken.

The meal at Dickie's was wonderful.

They serve you a 5 course meal French style Only in JA :biguup:

here is the order of food

-vegetable soup
-fruit platter
-vegetable omlette - I need to pause here...this was the best omlette I have ever eaten in my life. I would have been happy with just the omlette as a meal The thing was huge as well...I mean at least a foot long stuffed with veggies

- lobster with jamsine rice and vegetables

- fruits and choclate cake for dessert

only the dessert was a disappointment since it was box cake. Since I am a baker I could tell immediately.

Again, I just couldnt feel to pull out my camera. It is actually a romantic place since it sits on the sea fron so there were couples having dinner by candlelight together. I would have been annoyed if someone started snapping pix so I wasnt going to do so to them.

Dickie's wife sat with me for a while after I was done and we talked about her business and stuff. They had started off as a food stand more than 30 yrs ago and then it evovoled into what it is today. You do have to bring your own wine or spirits since they do not serve it.

I would love to return again but now that I see what the atmospher is like, I would definitely return with a special somebody instead.

I head back to the Mall to catch up with the boys. B is <span style="font-weight: bold">REALLY</span> quiet now
He really isnt too cool with me hanging out with C and G Oh well.

Since the barber shop is open late and C had to cut some more hair for a short while longer.

Me and G headed across the street to the <span style="font-weight: bold">Errol Flynn marina.</span> I couldnt get the night settings to work right so no pix for u guys.

We took a nice stroll the pier. And I couldn’t believe at 9pm at night soooo many ppl and families were out that night. The ambience was so nice and refreshing as everyone says “good night” as you walk by them.

We headed to the other side of the pier so I could dip my feet in the sea again.
The marina has a beautiful outside bar so we decided to sit there and talk until C was done working.
C eventually made his way over to where we were at and we all sat there until close….sometime after midnight.

The boys say, “uh-oh, what about your driver that is waiting on you…heavy sigh….so we head back to the mall to find him.
We get back…no driver in sight……

Long story short – B ran into town quick but told the security guard to tell me he was coming back. I didn’t know any of this until the following morning. But everything turned out well in spite of…
G and C said they would walk me back to the Ivanhoe’s instead of me taking a taxi back.

As we make our way up to Musgrave St we pass the Demonetvin Hotel. Turns out tonight is Karoke Night - Jamaica style

So of course the boys say I must go in a check it out

I must say this is one of the funnest nights of the trip. I have some video to upload for you all to get a taste. But I tell you it was an absolute blast!!!

God I miss these guys

Now the first man singing was in the crowd getting drunk on his white rum but every once in a while he would grab the mic and sing. And he had a voice too!

The middle guy is part of the house band who would start things off. He is famous with a CD out and thing but I dont remember his name. Matter of fact, all the men performing were talented musicians with curreny music out.

The last guy who you cant make out too tough b/c he is against the wall was the best. This man had a beautiful voice. And when he took the mic ppl when wild.....it turns out that the man is mentally challenged. He suffered a head injury as a child and of course isnt any better for it. For most of the night he would sit in the corner with his arms folded accross him. He moved really slow like he was going to fall over at any point.

He couldnt form thoughts well enough to communicate effectively but he could remember the words to song and sing like an angel. The video I have cannot do him justice at all.

He is a testament to how music affects the human brain....
