Brassiere announces that he is hungry and takes me for a ride to <span style="font-weight: bold">Boston Bay </span>since I had yet to see the area. I wasn’t ready to return to Kanopi so I was game.

Off to the Boston Jerk Centre I go

We eat at <span style="font-weight: bold">Little David’s </span>who is Brasserie’s good bredren. I got the jerk chicken and festival.

My belly wasn’t feeling so good right then so I put off eating my meal until later. We hung out for a while and chatted with the ppl.

Brassiere enjoyed his Appleton and I stuck to water until my belly settled down. Nuff ppl try to sell you things but nobody is pushy about it. I bought a couple things that I didn’t need from an older gentleman only because he was so gracious. Yes, I am a sucker.

yup pretty much

I have taken an additional 3 days for vacation right now Mainly to decompress more than anything.

actually b/c everything is in fairly close proximity to each other in Portland, the touring didnt feel to overwhelming at all. There was tons of other things I had planned to do but I just took each day as it came and did only what I felt up to. Everything was done at a slow pace so it was all good

I have only worn my hair out once since being here because the humidty just turns my hair into one large AfroPuff.


<span style="font-weight: bold">Thank God for all the head wraps I bought from Kurlie because that is all I could do with my hair</span>.

Anyhow as we were hanging out at the Jerk Centre, the wrap I was wearing had loosen over the day. I undid it to retie it and B asked me to do it one other way.

Of course I had to say that I don’t know other ways too tough.

A rasta overheard our conversation and came over to help me retie my head in another stylish way. I tried the following day to redo what he did but just couldnt pull it off I went back a few days later hoping to see him but I didnt.

I was starting to over heat. Between the opening fire pits and the heat from the day and little food in my belly, I was dying a slow heat death.
I asked B if he would drive me to Boston beach so that I could check it out and cool off a bit.

Dusk was coming but I just couldnt capture the light the way I wanted to at the beach.











The sea is fairly rough at ths spot hence why it is good for surfing. Lots of families were there that evening. B just chilled with a drink and I went for a swim even though I had no swimming gear with me

The salt water calmed my skin and my nerves as well.

I missed getting a shot of the little guy playing in the sand, getting washed out to sea His parents were in the sea in front of him so he was fine. But lord have mercy it was funny as hell to watch

Everyone cracked up when he started crying for help but his parents caught him before the waves went too far out with the little guy

We drive thru town for a bit and then head to Fairy Hill.

Hopefully not too many of these are duplicates





LaBest nightclub in the pink building. I went there for a short while in Thursday night with my driver.....



Town Centre. The clock tower is to the right and Mugrave Market is to your left.



Front of the Musgrave Market. They were a bit pushy in there...not just for you to buy things but to try and get your &quot;attention&quot; if you know what I mean Only went in once. Part of it is still under renovations as well so space is at a premimum

The American girls and I went to<span style="font-weight: bold"> Woodys Low Bridge </span>one night for burgers and man o man were they ever good <span style="font-weight: bold">THE</span> best hamburgers I have ever had in Jamaica. And you know, one of the better ones over all. They are small burgers but are very well made

We head back to Kanopi.

I forgot that I had earlier told the American girls that I would come to Woody’s Low Bridge with them. I figured since it was late that they would have eaten already but I had the jerk chicken that I had purchased at Boston. Turns out that they were waiting for me to come back.

I head up to my treehouse to change out of my wet clothes. I get a ¼ of the way up the treacherous stairs and the current lock off.

There is darkness and then there is <span style="font-weight: bold">blackness that you can only experience in JA. </span>I didn’t know what to do because I litereally could not see in front or behind me.


B hollered for me to stay put and he meet up with me with the flashlight on his phone and walked me back to the Common Room. Nobody from mgmt was on the property at the moment except for Carla’s kids.

These sweet kids go into action I tell you.

They search the place for flashlights and try light some candles which I ended up doing cause…well cause……So they head outside to look for someone. No luck. They cant get their mummy on the phone so they call Michael to see if he can tell them where the generator is and how they can turn it on....

<span style="font-weight: bold">Beeenie Man (in his best speaky spokey voice)</span> – Michael, I am here at Kanopi House and the current lock….I mean the electricity is out and we have guests here. What are we to do?

<span style="font-weight: bold">Michael –</span> Oh No, how the current go off like so? You know?

<span style="font-weight: bold">Beenie Man –</span> Michael, “Oh no” does not help anyone. Please tell us what are we to do for the guests? Where is someone to turn on the generator?

The rest of us are killing ourselves with laughter….We all start yelling at Michael to just answer the child so we can get out of the dark.



Michael instead says he is sending someone to the property to get the generator running. Of course soon come was the time period given.

Beenie Man gets off the phone and says Michael owes him some money since him a work here at Kanopi now

In the meanwhile Beenie and Bounty entertain us by telling rollin calf stories that were as scary as a nursey rhyme.


And when that didn’t work to scare us they resort to Anasi stoires…….dont ask...….They had us in stitches. These kids are natural born actors and stortytellers. Really they were the best part of the night.

You cant pay for that kind of entertainment.

About an hour later the generator is switched on and I ran up to change out of my wet clothes so we could eat.

We make it to Woody’s and order burgers which were so damn good. I added a strawberry/banana milkshake. We had the place to ourselves….just us, Woody and his wife who were just wonderful and kind ppl.

After our bellies were full we head back for an early night since we all needed to be up early the next morning.

Me to do the bike tour and the girls to make their way back to Kingston. Since this was going to be my last night at Kanopi and the others had left that day the Americans didn’t want to be by themselves on the property and I couldn’t blame them.

They were talking about the fish they caught earlier but I missed catching that convo. That one is priceless!

Now my man is chatting about ackee and how he was on the property on his own and how he just did his own thing

e arriving at the bottom of the stairs. Remember that this is only ONE pathway to the bottom.

Further down are other pathways that lead to a private beach on the Lagoon but I wasnt tryna find it at the moment

The stone pathways come in like a maize and I got &quot;lost&quot; twice trying to figure my way back on other walks around the place


Nylah you are brave no way would I video and try to walk down those steps.

Ok i am catching up.....LOVE LOVE LOVE the jewelry, I did that rafting thing and loved it, but no food. Wish I had known about the lady.

<span style="font-weight: bold">This house was where a good friend of mine use to live...she has the same name as you Nylah and she lives in canada now</span>



<span style="font-weight: bold">Drapers San..memories high school sweetheart use to live there and just below that is a little beach call Sanko bay...that's where I learn to swim</span>
