The town we stopped in is somewhere in St Mary. And yes, the smell of the rain on dirt was intoxicating so we just hung out for a bit to enjoy

The following day Egghead and I needed to head out to Ochi Niether of us really was up to it but it was time.

We make a brief stop at Blue Lagoon because Egghead never got a chance to see it earlier.

I had wanted to visit with Carla before leaving but we were running out of time.



If I was thinking we would have stopped at the Jerk Centre and carried some food for the road.....

So we make our way out of Drapers/Fairy Hills. My favorite song is blarring the background

and stop at the Barber shop to say goodbye to C. Since we needed an excuse to not leave yet we stopped at the little restaurant in the Mall I had eaten at before for some food.

We finllay drag our butts out of St George's Mall to load the car and be on our way. I had told G the night before about how much I love watermelon and while I was eating breakfast, he bought a nice piece to send me on my way

As we drive off, I spot a woman that looks a whole lot like my cousin's wife...only she lives in England I look at the tall black man walking next to her and realize it is them They were visiting my great-auntie (my cousin's mom) in Ochi and had decided to take a day trip to Port Antonio.

I ran out the car while it was still in motion and dashed across the street calling after them. It took a minute for them to put me in context

We hugged and visited for a bit. Since we would see each other in a few hours in Ochi, we could catch up then.

Seeing them lifted my spirits and gave us something to look forward to in Ochi.

My great auntie knew we were in JA but nobody new dates or when we would be actually showing up. Sooooo, technically we had no place to sleep but I was willing to stay in a hotel for a change. I was in hotel mode and had no qualms about continuing to be so.

We kindda get turned around in his neghborhood but since he is well known we were able to ask ppl and get directions.

We did however did go look for one of my favoirite cousins. I love staying at his house cause it is big and airy and he has A/C The house is situated on a hill so it gets a wicked cross breeze that makes it cool at night.

Also,the house has I believe <span style="font-weight: bold">2 (maybe one cant remember) seperate suites that she wants to source out to tourists in the near future.</span> Again, she wanted me to put the word out so if anyone is looking for a guest suite in Ochi (near the Royal Plantation) send me a PM as well. They live in a nice neighborhood that you can easily access the main road into Ochi.


We arrive just in time b/c my cousin had just returned from dj-ing a wedding in Kingsotn. His wife wasnt home yet but he wasnt sure if we could stay in the house since my CIL was renovating the house yet again Everytime I go there this woman is in the middle of re-modelling something He wanted us to stay but didnt know where he could put us.

That was no problem since we turn up on him unexpected. Since his wife wasnt home yet and I wanted to visit with her, we head out to our property to check things out.....a next cousin was having a small recpetion at the beasch since he just got married that morning...nice thing is it is a cousin I love to be around so we were thrilled to visit with him and the family

We cool out for a while before heading back to my other cousin so I can at least say hi to his wife. We get there and my girl is making up beds and things and chatting like we are moving in....she turn to us and says, where are your bags?? I am like...ummm.... in the car....we still need to find a hotel......she gives me one long azzzz kissteet and sends us to the car to get our things. And then ask me why I would listen to her husband in the first place

Perfect We get to stay and visit with them She was however very dissppointed we werent staying more than a night

Serindipity seems to be a a re-occuring theme when I go to Ochi. Always, there are other family members from outside JA who happen to be there the exact same time I am. It is always a surprise but also is a good one.

We suggest that we all go out together since we were only there for a night and didnt know when we would see each other again. One of my cousins suggests Tanya Stephen's club H20 which is near where we all are.

Turns out it is Karaoke night :jamaaica: and Tanya is supposed to make an appearance However, we find out once we are there that she wont be there until after midnight an NONE of us were up to that. Egghead and I had to head out early to deal with some stuff and the drive out to the airport to catch our flight home.

So sadly we didnt get to see her

The menu at the club is nuttin special. Standard stuff. I wasnt hungry but I did order a banana split.....not good at all Ice cream had freezer burn and the banana's were too &quot;fresh&quot; tasting

I got it figured out now

Plus I was wrong about the <span style="font-weight: bold">Black River </span>part But he says it is<span style="font-weight: bold"> Black Rock </span>not <span style="font-weight: bold">Black Rat</span>

And he knows where Commodore Hills is....just up the road from where we were at and that is the Black Rock area. Does this make sense to you jitterbug

There is a Black River but that is further East in the Long Bay area.
