I know what it takes to put together a good trip report, and you have poured hours and your heart and soul into this one. All of us, even the ones who would not take time to comment, thank you so much. As I said, it is the trip report of the Century.

Trust me, I have a new appreciation for those who do take the time to write trip reports

And thank you so much of the compliments. I wasnt even thinking about whether the report was good or bad - just writing what came into mind during my trip

i got a little weepy at the misty mountain pix. thanks for ur report nylah, and am happy for u that jamaica came thru for u this trip.

Nylah - thank you very much for a great report. Your description of places and events were vivid. I felt like I had travelled with you. I forwarded your report to my cousin's wife in London as she was born in Buff Bay and left there in the early 60's. She has shown it to her adult
children and they (the children) are now planning a their first trip to Portland - thanks to you.

oh my goodness, this actually choked me up a bit (yes I am PMSing )

That is so fantastic I am more than happy to "pay it forward" as it were. I am so happy that they will be making there way back soon. I am planning my next trip as well

oh man! I was thinking of you during the bike tour but completely forgot to mention that in the report
I thought you would love the mountain shots. This is why I really miss the camrecorder because that misty beauty could only be captured on film

one question ... is the 'bike path' for pedal cycling only?? or could a car travel the path as well?? or a motor bike/scooter? (when the pedal bike tour is not running??)

Laurel, the mountain road is for bike, car, van, truck, scooter, donkey......

It is the only road in and out of the towns in the area. That is why I mentioned how coordinated the guides are with their radios to either have us stop and pull to the side or stop the oncoming traffic so we have clear travel down the road.
