I don't have any new pictures of Kingston from this trip, even though I spent the majority of my time in Town.
One of these days I'll make a dedicated Town trip report fi unu.
On of my good friends from work was on the Island same time as me. She tell me seh she feel to go to the beach, and you know seh yuh nuh affi ask me two time if mi waan go beach!
Since it's been years since I've been to Portland, and she hasn't been even longer we deside to head to Porti!Comment

One time mi did go Mile Gully side (fra Shooters Hill), and see one sign say Cobblestone, or supm- nuh memba, but di sign did have one intesting name, and mi decide say mi gwey driveout an spree. Mi do some breed a drive drive into some hilltop

We head up Junction Road, windows down, breeze a blow, chunes de pon blast!

Junction Road never change. Whole heapa turning, twistin, up and down, with only a few places suitable fi overtaking. So we just a easy and enjoy the vibez. When we reach Annotto Bay one piece a shock!
Some criss new roundabout did a build! And de road like glass! Like glass mi seh!
Last time mi go that side must have been around 2003 and the road mash up bad. Laws ave mercy it did ruff. So when mi see dis nice glass road weh fayva farrin and it nuh have one pothole inna it mi shock!
I forgot how beautiful this side of the Island is!

It's a ziggy-ziggy bridge! And it means we soon reach...

We reach Boston Bay! This is the premier surfing beach in JA, and that water was calm like Negril! So all the surfer dudes were grounded.

...and camp out at Winnifred Beach for the day!

Since it's been years since I've been to this beach, and the turn off from the road got supeimposed with Reggae Beach in my brain, I couldn't figure out how to get to it.
But since me a man, and we nuh ask for directions mi a PROCEED!
All now we end up inna some ppl dem yard!
But mi nuh get discourage and we drive around the rammy dem and thru the grass and end up on some narrow lane thru the woods with the car side get scrape up with bush! It wasn't until we reach the marl road mi realise seh weh we de. Cho!
Shortcut!
Like me seh, de pikcha dem cyaan post yahso
but it did nice still!
So when sun set and the bokkle dem empty we realise seh time to start looking for a place to stay.
My uncle told me about a new B&B that don't offically open yet but is a nice place to stay. The problem was to find it at night. Located just above Winnifred Beach in Fairy Hill is a place owned by Rupert and Marcia Scott. The rooms are brand new and very comfortable. The bar is still under construction. From the terrace there's a sweeping view of the whole district and the sea. As we sit there at the bar and reason with the owner, rain start fall!
Now keep in mind a drought inna Jamaica and rain don't fall for weeks. Even in Portland. So it was a welcome sign by all. We go to Port Antonio for some midnight chicken and then tek up residence at some session in some corner bar.
Tuffy, this picture I take in pitch black! It come in like is daylight but you wouldn't see anything. Just a set it pon timed exposure and all now you can see things in the picture you could never see in real life. This is from Mr. Rupert's terrace.
Couldn't even see the sea but cooyah!
The next morning bare rain a fall. I love waking up to the sound of rain on the roof.
Was hoping to head up to Millbank today but since the rain wasn't letting up, it
would be no use. Honey518, you see, I have yet another reason to go back!
We roll into Port Antonee in the rain and go to Shadows for a perfect J'can breakfast.
Is long time mi nuh eat good food like this. Highly recommend it.
And the nice thing we're sitting at the outside bar and the rain falling all around.

i know this feeling, it reminds me of one time in Ochi, a come from Negril and sitting in a restaurant a eat dinner, but it so close to de road side, and the rain did just done fall~~ ohhhh man~~~

I have a newfound love for rain after living in the desert where it's constantly sunny and no rain a fall.
