Friday, January 4, Today we spend “we” time.

I check out of the Rayon / check into Beach Club Condos. I’m leaving my sisterfriends and I’m not happy about it but all will be well this afternoon. We three are spending the day together…going to Roaring Rivers.

I didn’t want to leave the Rayon, but I was looking forward to being back at NBCC. Transferring from one hotel to the other devoured three precious hours of my morning. If I were thinking I would have pre-registered yesterday to avoid the rushing and trying not to keep people waiting. I hate to keep folks waiting. Plus I was eager to see them. It’s only been a few hours and already I’m feeling the pangs of loneliness.

After finally getting to my room, showering and scrambling for something to wear, the ladies call to say they are on their way. Ready just in time. I double check my tote, dash down the stairs and hop in the ride.

Everyone is energized. I’m surprised cuz we were out late the night before. The Jungle. Packed from top to bottom. Wall to wall people from practically every nation…no exaggeration.

We had to bob and weave through the crowd to get upstairs. I love sitting by the rail where the sides are open and you can catch a breeze now and then. We couldn’t tonight because it’s drizzling so we needed to find a dry spot. A huge group of happy hour leftovers…doncha just love em….we hording at least a dozen chairs. Some were occupied and some weren’t. Didn’t matter cuz they weren’t sharing any of them. Sammy asked about them and this woman used her foot to pull two closer to her and said the people are here…they are dancing…or something like that. Cha…I wasn’t in the mood for a plastic chair struggle so we moved on.

We walked the floor, ended up across the room…near the wall…way to the side…in the dark…next to the ladies’ room. It was just that packed. Not too much of a breeze did we catch, but we were dry.

The music filled the spaces not occupied by swaying bodies. I have to admit, the tunes wasn’t particularly moving me tonight, but the crowd and the company made up for the lack of that melodic stimulant. But hey, that’s according to me. The sounds could have been excellent for others.

Mokatee wants to party downstairs. Sammy and I are staying up with a possibility of going down…a weak possibility.

We three are here. Two up and one down, but we are here together.

True beauty can be clearly seen through the blinding walls of darkness. Sammy was proof of that fact last night. We were sitting in the darkest part of the club, still her radiance caught the eye of a admirer who battled the crowd to get to her.

Oh this is too cute!!!

He asks her fe come dance wid him.

She smiles politely and says “no thank you.’

HA that was the worst thing she could have done. Smiled and let him see the twinkle in her eye. No…wait…it was the lip gloss. Yeah, he had that parched look in his eye so I believe it was her glistening lips that made his mouth crave refreshment. Made him determined not to give up pon her. LOL and he’s a shortie!!! Too dyam cute! We were somewhat elevated which made him look real short. Sammy’s got height. I was dying to see them stand side my side, but I refrained from encouraging him.
