Me time, She time and We time

Together, the three of us walked Jamaica at individual paces.

Our hours pon the rock were personally proportioned. Which made our stay flawless. There were mornings when one went to breakfast, one went shopping and the other found their spot on the beach. And of course there were times when the three of us were inseparable. We never got into each others way or abandoned one another.

This is so important when you are traveling with a group. Always keep in mind the other person’s need to be where they “need” to be, whether alone or with others.

Guests of the Rayon have access to Sunset Beach which is directly across the street. We find our spot, then quickly settle in to relish in the afternoon and what it might bring.

Mokatee, our waterbaby immersed herself in the ocean right away.



Sammy and I found food. This man was selling roasted beef cubes. Mild or hot seasoned. They were very tasty. Unfortunately the group beside us almost wiped him out and we got the bottom of the batch. Not enough.

I was disappointed…make that disgusted, to see so many bare bunz and boobs on the beach. I don’t know. I feel if you are into public nudity, pay the extra money to do it in resorts that have provisions for that, like ten foot walls so the rest of us don’t have to look at it. Seriously, I have a problem with adults being nude not only in public, but around children. I think it’s disrespectful to them to their young eyes and mind. As a parent, I wouldn’t have my child swim in the same area with topless or rude nude adults. Thank goodness the beach is seven miles.

The beach bar sells Red Stripes for 100JA. I get one…then another. I decide to go to my room for rum cuz I need a little hype in my stripe. On the way back, I’m spotted by a guy on a low rider bicycle. He peddles my way and slowly circles me. Peddling while he’s talking and I’m walking carrying my mini bottle of rum Okay, I’m feeling silly 16 right now and he’s looks about that age. He circles me two more times. Okay, I’m feeling stupid dizzy so I stop walking. He grips the ground with his feet because I don’t think the bike has brakes.

“You going to the beach?”
“Yes.”
“Can I join you?”
“Thank you, but no.”
“Why not?”
