my understanding is this: it's a middle class(working class) people . . . karl told me that it's about $75,000us for the finished two bedroom product. still needs outside finishing.

Jitters, orbs are somewhat controversial in theory but the general consensus is that true orbs are spirits. Then there is te discussion on whether a photo contains orbs or just dust particles. A lot has to do with condidtions and such and gee I can't imagine you have dust particles since you are outside! And then if the orbs appear in a photograph in one spot and in the next photo not at all and so on and so forth.

i've asked rex to trip with me to bath and surrouding areas . . .
ad we drive down to long road i try to locate my little friend maggie . . . i stop by one shop and strike gold, maggie was there yesterday looking for me . . . drive further down long road and spot a woman i think would be able to help. bingo. she can come and show me where maggie is.

i haven't seen maggie for two years, she's back at her mother's home and just married maury. he's the last two kids baby father. i'm happy for her . . . they're taking the kids out of there . . . maury is from england and they're in the process of getting papers.

rex said maggie must be a real good friend cause when she came out of the house, she hugged me up and literally jumped in my lap . . .




i've been inside bath many times but never to the bottom . . . i've got a fear of heights and attempted that little path many times unsuccessfully. today, i try again and reach the bottom. rex laughed but was a good sport . . .

we get there and settle in. the men that work the massage there erected a shower of bamboo, mixed the hot and the cold. it's like you're in heaven . . .

the massage men are waiting for their regular clients. today, they're getting three jockeys from kingston who are running a big race on sunday. apprently, they come and get their massage and blessings before every race. it was a hilarious day, hanging out with all of the men.

during our stay, a jamaican woman comes by. in this group, we have rex, myself, a british man and his singing star protege and this lady. the rest are local people here for their bath.

it's a party, jamaican style. by now, the lady is totally disrobed, naked as a jay bird . . . the british jamaican is visibly uncomfrotable and does not know where to look. the lady is fondling herself as she talks to the british gentleman. she's asking him to help her get to england. one of those "had to be there" . . .

the jockeys are very, very small guys and have a high pitch voice. one of them demonstrated how he will ride his horse by placing his feet on two rocks and if you just look at the top of his body, you would swear he was riding a horse . . . good fun . . .

rex had a shower also. he thanks me for taking him along. said that the whole day was wonderful.

no pictures of this day. was not appropriate.

on the way back, we stop and eat some ital food, cabbage and rice. great taste, basic food.

i have to go to the bathroom and hate going to the bush. i go to bath hotel and ask to use the restroom. the woman goes on a rant and i mean a rant about how i chose to go to the bottom and they don't provide public bathrooms. if i want to use it, have to pay $400j, the price of a tub. i tell her i'm willing to pay 100J just to use the bathroom. she was rude and out of order and i wanted to pull her across that counter and slap her out a little . . . actually a lot . . .

$400 - THE MOST EXPENSIVE BATHROOM USE IN JAMAICA . . . be forewarned, if you choose to use the bottom and not the hotel.

on the way back from bath, we stop at reach falls . . . it's now run by the government. it's 3:50 p.m. almost closing . . . the young man directs me to back in and then he directs me to go out and back in at an angle and still not good enough, juggle some more. ok. we parked. then, he said my friend must put out "the thing" cause it's illegal . . . by now i'm ready to spit . . . the sernior person is waving at me to walk a certain way. i've had enough and tell him that's too many directives for me . . . after all the parking juggling, walk here, walk there . . . we are the onlye ones there and sure not many more will come at this time . . . we speed off . . .

we drive back to commadore hill the back way, over the mountains . . . i'm trying to conquer my fear of heights . . .

the drive took about 1 hour. it's s curves, tiny road . . . i see a red car across the mountain and assume he's spotted me . .. as i drive i can hear him speeding and stop the car before a curve and laid on the horne . . . he came screeching around the corner and just stopped in time to "kiss" my bumper . . . the only vehicle we encountered on the whole drive and could have been disasterous . . .

one morning dave tells me that he's going to a funeral. a police friend of his . . . the policeman's partner's mother died and it's a dead night, do i want to come along? . . . you don't have to ask me twice . . .

we set out for st. thomas around 9 p.m. dave is driving, the policeman in front, myself and pilly(an old man friend of dave's) in the back. . . . i love touring with good men friends, it's the best . . .

we get to the dead yard, lots of people there, totally local, i'm the only foreigner . . . food and liquor comes to us . . . i hear drumming, different kind of beat . . . pilly tells me it's a "kumina" drumming . . .

i've waited 25 years to experience this . . . we find a spot and settle in . . . it's fabulous, the drumming . . . the tempo increases . . . i would love to pull out the camera but don't . . . two hours later one of the people within the circle was chatting with me and i asked him who i would ask for permission to get a photo or two. he points to the main man and said "go on" . . . i do and the man agrees. he told me that he travels all over jamaica to perform. he is a small but very powerful man. i'll share some photos.








point of interest: the dead yard was in a policewoman's home . . . enough herb burning with no problem . . .

Hey Jitters just loving your report! I'd love to hop around with you in Portie one time! I've not been to that area enough....would love to be able to do it with a car! I did a wake one night about 3 years ago in Mandeville. They did the drumming thing too....was there til about 3:30 in the morning. I was falling asleep standing up! What an experience though. does indeed look weird for Jamaica. Once everyone is settled and start their gardens and trees have matured ,it should improve.
Fortunately for them, this may have been their only chance as working ppl to own a piece of the rock to raise their families ..
