As luck would have it the evening was kind of overcast so we didnt get to see the spectacualr sunset we had hoped for - but the view is nonetheless SPECTACULAR!!!

I can;t seem to help myself - I take picture after picture trying futilely to capture the colors and the mood and the exact silver of the water as the evening shadows fall across it - still none seems to do justice to this most amazing plateau that is laid out beneath us...

It seems that we can actually Touch the Sky and the fog of the evening gives the impression that the clouds are floating beneath us... it is surreal, almost... heavenly and the only thing that could make the evening more perfect is if I could have had Stew Peas for dinner

it truly is one of those moments when you know quite certainly that there is a GOD and he is MIGHTY!












This is just a taste - I am tired - will put up more pics tomorrow - some things dont need a narrative - they just speak for themselves.

ON the deck of the resturant looking through the telescope they have set up there.



They have aHUGE tree right in the middle of the floor - I am so happy they decided not to cut it down.

- truthfully there is not much to tell about that trip - my body was still on US EST and I actually fell asleep on the ride down - we left the restaurant at approx 9:30 or so which would have been 3:30 AM US ET time - so I could barely walk straight... additionally the road was soooooooo dark (think Jamaican country road inna de miggle night) - I could not see the precipice on the side and was actualy more relaxed goingn down than when we were going up.

Besides the only way to get to that place is if the driver comes to get you so he navigates that road at least 5-10 per day - that made me feel more secure...

Hi Nylah Sadly no - we definitely paid for the view... i'll post some pis of the food tmorrw.

The sky pics are beautiful, but I'm really taken aback by the prices you guys paid at the restaurant. Was everything that expensive, or just the food? The way you described the road to get there gives me the chills, and it's even worse if I'm going along a road like that and I'm not the one driving! Somehow I've always imagine the island as something more 'magical', so I'm curiously awaiting the rest of the report and pics.

The price of the food is is is What the heck is that all about? The price for the drinks, oh that was truly a turnoff!

Did you go into a grocery there? was it crazy moneys too?
whats thier big export? What you bring home? you got pics of the new mr jazz?

Sorry - I had Olympic fever and work quota today - didn;t get around to the food pics...

CEW I promise I have other pics that will take your breath away... it's a bit of the parody that is French Polynesia...

Girl I don;t know why the place is so overpriced - we just think its the french and european influence... an BTW de FRENCH people dem stink an dem attitude stinka - dem annoy mi to no end de whole trip... \o/

but stick around though - there are other aspects that make the trip more than worthwhile

we didn't actually go into a grocery but we did stop at a kinda shop to get a box of juice and it was also expensive... I think their mainstay is tourism actually... I think any farming they do is more susbsistence farming and the isands are so small - there i not much of anything that can actually be done wth the land... maybe the pearls are their primary export... it;s an interesting question and sadly mi nevva aks while I was there

mi bring home some pareus, some pearls and other souvenirs... Mr. Jazz is not quite as gregarious as I am - im deh pan de shy side and is not down wit his pics being posted up here - so mi haffe respeck dat...

We decide to have the fondue dish and something called &quot;Cock in Wine Sauce&quot;

As we chatted one of the young ladies we had picked up in town on the way up brought this out - we tried to figure out where the fuel was that powered it... it was one of the unsolved mysteries of the trip kikikikiki
