I had a little cocktail last night - and it put me to sleep early.

I could hardly wait to get up this morning and check this thread again.

I notice you say you are a Hostess with the Mostess ... I wonder how I can get to be your new best friend and squeeze out an invitation???

thanks Bandanna - that was the info I was looking for on the glacier water that I couldnt find last night

The lake water changes colour throughout the day. It is a really neat effect.

Laurel - I am pretty much nearing the end....I only have a few more pix to post for you guys. And you only want to be my new BFF (best friend forever) because of my pictures I feel so used

But hey, if you want to fly out here I'd be willing to take another drive out there to get more shots

i am not really a lake person cause dem always look dutty

well, somebody lied to you Gen

The lakes in the park are protected, so they all have that incredible blue color around here. They strictly enforce lake use and pollution which keeps them not so dirty as others.

If you see the lakes outside the protected zone, you would get the willies

sorry folks, I have only 3 shots of the mountains left that I took from a moving car....yes driving and pointing a camera

I wished we had more than a day to explore the area. I have seen most of it time and time again but I dont ever get tired of it. The national park is so vast that a few days are needed to take it in. I do plan to drive out to Jasper before the snow falls this year. Just to give you an idea, Jasper is nearly 300km AWAY from Banff and you still havent reached the edge of the Park. If I do then I will be sure to share.

I have no shame in beggin an invite -

but - it is all in good fun - cuz I will probably never make it out there, but I will continue to tag along in my dreams ~

I love that picture too. Was admiring it last night and thinking the appears that the road leads right into the mountain.

McGee, depending on the route taken, it is a 2 to 3 day drive between Edmonton and Toronto Did that once and I doubt I'd be motivated to do it again!

Take Air Canada at least to Alberta and then the road trip can begin
