My father went from being a very independent, active senior to an old man who is totally dependent, wearing diapers and living in a hospital until he can get a bed in a nursing home. Most of the things he worked hard for and collected over a lifetime and were such prized possessions to him ended up in a landfill. Must be the year to take stock of what is really important in life I guess huh.</span>

Anyway, Happy Belated Birthday Marilyn! I seriously wish you good health, much love, long life and many more adventures. </div></div>

I have some ideas of how you are feeling. As much as we try at times, it is difficult to not be able to share with someone special.

I'm sorry you felt sad on your trip and your birthday. I love my alone time and cherish every moment so I can't identify with the sadness. However...I can see how you can turn this into an enterprising situation! Go back to South Beach with a girlfriend tour!

Actually he was trying to get Scuba dive certified, so he had made all of these plans to go diving that day. I was going to the beach.

It went more like this

&quot; Diving shirt...what are you doing out of the dive case? You come here right now &lt;picks up shirt and places it in the bag&gt; There now, there you are in the right place with your friends, and don't you go missing again.&quot;

This is just one I particularly remember, there were many more clothes and bathroom coversations.

I saw a couple of groups of women with GF taking in the place, and they looked like they were having a great time....but Nan that place is hellaceous expensive. I tell you.

Yes I can tell it's really expensive! That's not why I'd never go there though...it just isn't my tea. But obviously it is for MANY! You could make some nice Jamaica money. BTW don't ever lef your plans and happiness behind some man.

That said...there are many places I have traveled alone. There are places I wouldn't go alone though because it would be so much more fun to have a friend with. I'd have to say South Beach would be one of those kind of places if I were so inclined.

It would be like going to Disney alone! I dragged Val across the country to Disney with me when I drove to a dog show across the road from there lol. I wouldn't go there alone but I did one time to go an amusement park sort of alone so I can kind of identify with your saga. I was chaperon for HS band trip. It happened to be right on my birthday too! It was a saturday and first we stopped at a shopping mall in Mpls. That part was great! The kids got to spend X amount of time and we didn't have to accompany them so I shopped. later we arrived at Valley fair, a big amusement park near Mpls...

We bid the kids a good time at 11am and they were free to roam till 6. That was one of the longest 7 hours of my life. I rode rides alone and wandered around and people watched and once in awhile I'd see some of the band kids and have a ride with one that didn't have anyone to ride with. in that respect I can identify with how you felt alone on this day!

South Beach owes you something. I think the third time will be the charm!
