We booked this second trip to Key West within days of our first visit last October...we had wanted to stay in one of the B&B's or guesthouses that are so prevalent there, but Expedia made us an offer that was too good to pass up (stay 3 nights, get the fourth night free), so our home for the weekend was the Hyatt Key West Resort....it was a nice enough place, the location and views couldn't be beat, but it was just a little sterile for our tastes...and the nicest thing I can say about their wifi is that it was "unreliable"

We had a 6AM flight out of LaGuardia that was scheduled to get us to KW by 11:30AM, which they did, but at LGA I was forced to gate check my perfectly legal carry on bag, despite my protestations and observance that the passenger in front of me and the passenger behind me had the same size bag
...it wouldn't have been that bad, but we ended up waiting the better part of an hour at baggage claim
I had planned a nasty email to Delta, but they redeemed themselves...more on that later....we dropped our bags and headed directly to the Schooner Wharf Bar, which ranks right up there with the bar at For Real as some of my favorite places to imbibe
....a blackened mahi melt sandwich, a couple of Red Stripes and a nice cigar quickly helped me forget my baggage escapade.....we chilled there for a couple hours before returning to check into our room....some of the interesting vessels that sailed by our balcony...

I am planning a trip there this Fall
