Well it's Monday morning and we're scheduled for a flight out at 5:30PM....so we figured we'd end the <span style="text-decoration: line-through">debauchery</span> weekend the same way we started it...at the Schooner Wharf Bar ....checked out at noon, dropped our bags in the car ( we kept the rental overnight to drop back at the airport ) and hooked up with some friends for our going home party....the entertainment was provided by Michael McCloud, a certified Key West character...his modus operandi is to do as many gigs as possible for 3-4 days so he can take the next 3-4 days off ...it's worked well for him for the last 35 years ......







that's his little white dog on the floor, Cindy.....the hound remains almost motionless while he's playing....




Michael's a somewhat cynical, but humorous, song writer and a <span style="font-weight: bold">really</span> good guitar player .....but if you think he sounds like Jimmy Buffet, you'd be wrong....Jimmy Buffet sounds like him

Excellent! preZACKLY how i imagined it would be! if all goes well ima be spendin a month in FLA in sept/oct, and plan to take a few days down there, and now you have only whetted my already-considerable appetite!

Sadly, we could put off the inevitable no longer...we needed to make one more stop and then get to the airport....we hit the Eaton St Seafood Market for &quot;souvenirs&quot; .....



because of the holiday, the case wasn't quite as full as it usually is, but we made the best of a not-too-bad situation....



we managed to stuff about 5 pounds of Key West Pink shrimp and about 1.5 pounds each of mahi-mahi and yellowtail into our little collapsible cooler (aka: Pooh's carry on ) ....we ate really well the next couple of days

Before we passed through security, I really needed to use the restroom...while I was in there, doing what men do in the men's room, I heard an announcement over the PA...Delta was looking for 10 people to get bumped in exchange for a night at the Sheraton, meals, a flight home the next day and a $400 voucher towards another flight!

it's a wonder I wasn't arrested running to the ticket counter while pulling up my zipper and shaking one leg

we arrived at the Sheraton, giddy as schoolgirls, a little while later...dropped our bags, grabbed some sandwiches and headed back to the Schooner to rejoin our going home party

Airline personnel and weather related delays seriously impacted our journey home, but, no worries.....while everyone else on the plane was eating their childproof bags of peanuts, we feasted on a couple more free ( free is always affordable! ) sandwiches from the Sheraton

we stumbled through our front door about 9PM Tuesday....

oh, and those $400 vouchers? they'll be taking us back to Key West in 4-5 months!
