Too funny, I heard a LOT of ARRRRGH this weekend and even saw a coupla guys dressed in pirate gear but I was so busy takin it all in I never got around to gettin photos! lol.
That's the way the cookie crumbles! Speakin of cookies...LulaBell's brownies should be a reason to fear a hijacking and the chocolate chip bars, MY God....Talented with an oven there, Lulabell! YUM! (loops would have been a great ally to have in your corner around the time moi had to cook in a gas oven too!!!)

ha ha ha - I dropped back in ... Nookie with a gas stove/oven ... <span style='font-family: Arial Black'>BOAL!!!</span>

we unload the boat and Nookie BOLTS back to the beach house to get the Jerk On - along with the rice n peas ....

it is a nice nuff gas stove - you choose the temp and press start and the timer starts counting down from 10 minutes ... Nookie is CLUELESS with the gas oven taking 10 minutes to come to temp. She flips the oven door open starts cuzzin and moaning cuz the oven does not work - <span style='font-family: Arial Black'>IT IS NOT GETTING HOT ... and the timer is on all of 9 minutes and 46 seconds</span>

So - I come round and give her my hand [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70400-talktohand.gif[/img] ... calm her down - explain it takes LONGER than 14 seconds for the oven to come to temp ....

I have seen Gitchee Gummi turn every shade of blue & gray that there is but until this trip I had never witnessed the turquoise shades & it blew me away. I have been looking at this body of water for half a century now!

The photos Lulabell has and these tell the tale not much need for words but I got em anyway, lol..



Bluer than blue!!!



Dudie had been turning the controls over to Bill and when the coast was clear he finally got to spend some time with LB hangin out on the deck...



I believe this is Basswood Island. It was so awesome to see it from the sea and not the land side for a change!

The beauty of it is profound....

Nookie - loving your photos of the Apostles ... they have such unusual names for "Apostles" ~ I had a few cups of margaritas ~ and had a drop with lafta over my names for the Islands ... "Peter, Paul & Mary"

As I was sayin earlier, I don't usually do people pics and this trip I did even less than usual cause I knew that LulaBell was takin care of that end of things. I did manage to get a few nice shots of the crew from my perch...

This girl is every mothers dream, I just loved her right off the bat! Such a cutie too! Oh, and she wasn't just posing for photographs, she was doing a good job of steering the ship. Well, Ok...after a few wild sways but they weren't her fault and it was big fun for me & they weren't really that wild and it was great fun cheering her on!!



LB hard at work on the ropes. I never realized before the intricate detail of so many ropes and their usage and what was so great is that we all got explainations about how they all work along the way which was so very interesting. I found myself wondering what kind of mind figured all that out!

..



Occasionally we had neighbors at first, if you can call them that. Everything from sailboats to catamarans and powerboats, but it was far from crowded even though the temperature on shore was in the mid 80's to the low 90's! It was cool and pleasant on our fine vessel...for now! (hehehe yeah for now, you wil just have to stay tuned, lol)...



As we approached a beautiful mooring area off of Strockton Island I caught the spirit of Lulabelle. I just love these two photos!




As the saying goes, no matter where you go, there you are. I think it is fitting for what I see in these Lulabell shots! Tell me this couldn't be a photo of her in Jamaica!



And then it happened...I relaxed, mark that on the calender cause it dosen't happen hardly ever! We stopped at the most beautiful spot and set anchor. I took my green flowered cushion up to the deck by the bow and got comfy while we hung out. All the while as I was laying there I kept telling myself "Nanook, no you are not dreaming, you are really here!"....

Good morning Biscotti, LulaBell & Rootsie! I have a busy day starting in a little while and company coming for the weekend so I gotta talk fast this morning, lol...

There were so many terms we use in out every day language that I never before realized come from nautical terms. One example is "tell tails". See the little pieces of orange fabric flying there on the sails? They are called tell tails (and here I always thought it was tell tale!!) and you want to pay attention to what they are doing. Learn sumthin every day I tell ya!




When you see the islands from shore, they don't really look that big, but some of them are HUGE! This one that is in a lot of the photos is Stockton island and it took us the better part of our sailing day to get around it, and it is also where we anchored for a bit.

Stocton Island has such a varied terrain...





About this time I grew my sea legs and started towards the bow of the boat where I stood hanging on to the mast and snapped away. I loved it up there out in front like that!

The roots from the trees stick out in the rock and reminded me of chicken feet...

We SHOULD have photo'd the pile of Apostle Island pendents that morning ... you know what ... I have worn mine with my tourqoise bracelet and earbobs everyday since you gifted us. I MUST get a photo and post it ... many many thanks!!!
