Re: STONE SOUP ~
I think we were out on the water about 9 or 10 hours. Somewhere in there we were all talking about the stone soup when it hit like a ton of bricks...WE ARE THE STONE SOUP! Together one and all, we came together for this little journey and we couldn't have been a better fit with eachother. You would never know that none of us had ever met before (well, cept for LulaBall & jaith that is!)
Towards the end of the boat trip it started to get a bit chilly and I was wishing I had a sweatshirt and long pants but I did at least bring a Jamaica beach towel to wrap up in. It was strange, it would go from warm to cool to cold in a flash of a second. The only reason I was looking forward to shore was cause I was hungry. Remember, I didn't eat any breakfast and it was now around 8pm, and I don't eat fruit or cheese or crackers so I sustained myself on a handful of M&M's and some red licorice. If it wasn't for the fact I felt like I was gonna faint dead away over food, they prolly woulda had to pry my fingers from the boat railing to get me off there. I'm already scheming to try to figure out a way to go sailing again!
Meanwhile, as soon as we landed I went into high gear over getting the food to the house in order to get it warmed up quick quick as we were all famished and I was on the verge of passing out from hunger, lol...
The next morning I woke up at 4:36am and dashed out of bed to catch the last sunrise. Nobody else stirred, and I stayed quiet as I could for everyone had a long drive in store for them but me...
There was a flurry of activity over packing our cars and vans and making breakfast and trying to get in our last chat and before I knew it..it was time to leave. How do you end a weekend such as this? My first thoughts were to just finish packing my car and run away before I started to get all teary eyed because after all, this wasn't really a good-bye, God willing we will all come together again and have another wonderful adventure. Whatcha all doin tomorrow? We had some wonderful Kumbya moments in the house, I'll let someone else tell that story..
I had brought a little package of sunflower seeds for us to plant and leave a little something of us behind in this wonderful place, so that morning we planted them and lovingly watered them, and I picked a spot where they would always get run off water when the house owners watered their own gardens. Hopefully the seeds will sprout and become beautiful smiling sunflowers for all who pass by our house to know we were there! I plan to go back in a month or so and see if they are growing, lol, if we have a drought maybe I will need to go give them a drink!
A pose for a group shot before I couldn't take the good-byes anymore and I was the first brave soldier to jump in my car and head home...
I love all you beautiful people and can't wait to get together again! sniff sniff Thank you everyone for this wonderful time!
