1. How did you find Jamaicans.com

<span style="font-weight: bold">I heard about Jamaicans.com on another message board some years ago. A few members on that site mentioned this site without actually giving the name, but if memory serves, it was the infamous Rory who finally gave the URL. I have peeped every now and then but only recently signed up.

The reason I ended up on any Caribbean message board at all was because of a Guyanese guy who I was dating who said we were having a cultural clash. He did not give me the details I needed so I set out to find out what the difference was.</span>



2. You said you were American , do you have Jamaican relatives?

<span style="font-weight: bold">I have no West Indian heritage whatsoever that I am aware of. I do have friends from almost all cultures and have no dating boundaries except I only date men. I do have a very close Jamaican friend who moved here when she was around 7, but that’s about it for any real ties.

3. Have you visited Jamaican and How often?

<span style="font-weight: bold">I have only visited twice. After the first time, I was ready to pack up and move. I probably would have if I had not been so concerned about income. I did not even realize I had been living in smog until I saw how the skies looked postcard clear there.

I am looking forward to going back, but I do not want to stay at a resort this time but maybe a villa of some sort. I am not the resort type and end up out and about anyway. I met some rally nice people who opened their homes to me, a total stranger. On the flip side, I met some people who seemed to have an issue with me just because I was from the US.</span>



4. Are you single or Hitched..any <span style="text-decoration: line-through">rug rats</span> children?

<span style="font-weight: bold">I am divorced with no children. I was engaged for about 4 months until two weeks ago.

5. Where are located now?

<span style="font-weight: bold">Atlanta, but I have always lived in the south.</span>



6. What do you do for fun – Hobby etc.

<span style="font-weight: bold">I like to travel. It does not have to be anything extravagant, but even just a weekend drive to some place I’ve never been is fun to me. I like to cook/try out dishes from different cuisines. I like to garden a bit, but like houseplants more than digging in dirt outside. I like logic puzzles. I like playing cards. I like agility training my dog. I like bookstores, but that comes in spurts and I’m not in that mode right now. I enjoy working with the elderly, but I’m not volunteering anywhere at the moment. I think the only physical thing that breaks a sweat that I enjoy doing is biking. (Reread that last sentence and will say that’s not the only but I’ll just leave it at that.)</span>



7. Finally, what maude you chose the Monika – “Tulip”

<span style="font-weight: bold">I was out of ideas and was in a hurry to sign up. I must have wanted to post to some thread badly. I wanted something different than the 2 or 3 names that I have used since the turn of the century. I love flowers and tulips are my favorite so I said why not.

I just love any type of greens anyway. But when I visited Jamaica, I tasted callaloo for the first time. Now at first, I was in a state of general confusion. Why are we having collards (callaloo) and tuna (saltfish) for breakfast? Also, what kind of eggs (ackee) are these?

I mentioned in another thread that I was teased for wanting the callaloo for dinner too but a lady down the road was willing to make them for me each evening. I’m not sure if I can explain why I like them so, but the taste really agrees with my tastebuds.

I don’t know how the court is going to rule, but we going to have to think about this thing. This is like one of those riddles that starts off with “If people from place A lie all the time…”

Hmm. I think my candor with admitting that I will lie to you about my age cancels out the charge of lying with intent to deceive and pretty much just makes me in denial. You know what? I think I'm going to zip up with my right to remain silent. Am I going to need a lawyer?
