one of my colleagues is a Pole and he remarked that Ryszard Kapucinski was somehow scorned because he generally storified or almost fictionalized journalism. i said to him i didnt care, because i enjoyed kapucinski's books and own several of them. and for that i have u to thank, wahalla.

kapucinski, like you, has written of awaiting what he felt was certain death - is that why u liked him as a writer, because it seems his experiences were close to yours?

I like Kapuchinski because he was writing in a time where the poles were colonialised by the soviet union... he went out as a corespondent on a wing and a prayer reported withing the constratins of the poltical civic in his country.. His books all pointedly critised the system that he was constrained by, but subtly... But I suspect his articles of journalism towed the party line... That he was not present in all the events he claimed is true.. that he told truth is another matter..

I dont inhabit a male world soley.. Today I spent the afternoon in a meeting with three charming ladies as well as another female staffer from a contractors discussing a quality plan. See this is a case in point, I have no idea what a quality plan should be, I was told to develop one for a tender award because the staffer had disdain for it, I ended up reviewing it, during the meeting while they talked, pulling it apart found a major issue, that is what I like about my job I get to think on my feet, a get to run with the idea, I get to close the gaps on my own iniative )....And if I get caught up in a coup or a car accident or breifly threaten by a police mand it is much the same as the quality plan, I just happened to be there when it happened..<span style="color: #FF0000"> trust me I am not intrepid.. I am a coward....</span>

But I tend to deal with engineers scientist managers in the energy industry and these tend to be more male dominated..... In fact the company I consult for has a greater proportion of women in their offices than man. there are about 7 female engineers i work with on a daily basis and about twenty male engineers.. ~The person who signed off for me to go to libya back in the nineties was the regional manager of an engineering and reputed to be a lesbian...

If you recalled I stated earlier that autobiography writers tend to push them selves at the center of events.. And I am the anthesis.. I am on the perifery of the hurricanes of events not at the center....

By the way go onto the TVJ website, a friend of mine from the past is doing three, three minute segments on the up coming Guyanese election
