i confess i don't know enough of busta's contemporary actions and influence beyond the usual mocking stories about his illiteracy, and the story that he asked for a bit of the british flag to be kept in the new jamaica flag (hence the diagonal cross). it seems as if he really cared about jamaica and the poorer, disenfranchised jamaicans, and maybe he did relate to them in a way that others didnt. i've read rachel manley's books on her family, i should seek out an equal history of busta.
